Teng Tea Dessert Cafe is one of the new addition in the last quarter of 2015 on Rangoon Road. It is beside Icebox Cafe which I visited previously. I really think Farrer area is beginning to flourish. Maybe into another Tiong Bahru or Jalan Besar.
The cafe space is adorned in monochrome. Space isn’t the most interesting among cafe design. But due to the main white space, the cafe look and feel spacious.
Teng Tea Dessert Cafe has a huge menu and in particular on beverages. It devoted one full page to the drinks. It offers a wide range of bubble tea and its like products. Lots of tea variety, hot and cold, creative ones or the usual ones. Great that they offered some coffee options for the non-tea drinker too. Prices of the beverages starts from $2.90 for the Brew Tea to the most expensive in the cafe which is milkshake at $6.90.
On the dessert category, you will find all the trend food such as the Bingsu, Shibuya Toast, Waffles, Pudding and Ice Cream. In fact, some similar offerings as Icebox Cafe. Making it a direct competitor.
What I like about Teng Tea Menu is they indicate the “Best Seller”, Highly Recommended” and “Sesaonal Item” on its menu. I thought this really help diners to decide.
I ordered the Chocolate Nutella Milkshake since I was in the mood for milkshake. At Teng Tea, instead of offering a rich creamy glass of milkshake, they choose to whip up a light version.
While I was at the cafe, I met a customer who is a fan of Teng Tea Dessert Cafe Hot Osmanthus Tea ($2.90). As it was priced at a very reasonable price and at a great quality. He highly recommended this drink.
NAHMJ Verdict
Teng Tea Dessert Cafe priced their desserts and drinks at a very affordable cum reasonable price mark, though the service is rather slow.
The consolation is that Teng Tea Dessert Cafe offers free Wifi.
