Café Aux Bacchanales at Plaza Singapura, at the new wing, taking over Eggs ‘n Things will allow you to experience a bite of France since now we can’t travel as they offer Parisienne dining experience. Or maybe … Japan instead, since they hail from Harajuku, Tokyo, Japan. Singapore is their first oversea venture.
The restaurant has the Parisian cafe feel.
They serve Galette, lesser known, which is very similar to crepe, instead of using wheat flour, it uses buckwheat flour and are usually savoury. We opted for the Galette au Jambon & Champignon ($15.80) which means Ham and Mushroom Galette has an egg yolk in the centre. It was tasty. Mushroom and ham will never go wrong.
At typical French restaurant, it is common to find Steak Frites & Duck Confit. And so we opted for the Sirloin Steak Frites Sauce Bordelaise and Confit de Canard ($35.80). Both are on point.
Dessert is always a must to end the meal with a sweet note. For those who love sourish dessert, Tart Au Citron ($7.80) is a only choice item. I won’t want to miss crepe since I am in a French Restaurant. A good and safe choice is the Crepe Au Chocolat ($10.80). If you can’t decide and if there is someone to share your dessert, go for both.
NAHMJ Verdict
Convenient location and tasty food served are the perfect elements for re-visits. The next round I will opt to try the Ribeye Steak Frites, Carré d’Agneau Rôtis (Roasted Lamb), Crêpe Suzette and Tarte aux Fruites.
