If you read a little French, from the name, you might be able to guess that this restaurant, Canard Street, is all about duck. And indeed, on the menu there are mainly Duck dishes.
Launched in 2016 by 2 young entrepreneurs who are passionate about duck and street food. Hence Canard Street was born with her first at Halles de Wazemmes in Lille. Till now, they have 2 other outlets, one at rue de Bethune, Lille, which I visited and the third is in Paris.
Canard Street offers 4 main types of duck items with 2 dishes each; Burgers, The Classics, Tartares, and Croustillants.
I have a hard time deciding between the 2 burgers. Anyway, I went with
Burger Magret (€13), will revisit soon for Burger Confit (€13). Fall in love at first bite. It is a given that bun has to be soft and fluffy. The medium rare duck patty (though I asked for medium), combined with the sauce and cheese was tasty.
2 items under The Classics category. I picked Duck Confit (€13). Crispy skin with fork-tender meat. I love it though I am sure the light palate diner will find it too salty for their liking.
Croustillants is good option when you want a light and easy to eat meal. I opted the Croustillants Confit (€13) which was tasty.
All items are served with Fries cooked in Duck Fat and chopped thymes and coarse salt are sprinkled to enhance the flavour.
Food served at Canard Street are not only delicious but affordable. A main and fries with soft drinks cost only (€13) , personally, I think the pricing is extremely reasonable.
If you would like to try out Canard Street but won’t be in Lille, find them in Paris, 16 rue des Petits Champs, located at the 2nd arrondissement, extremely near to the Lourve.
