Jour de Peche is one of my favourite restaurant at Lille which I returned when I am in Lille. The other favourite is Monsieur Jean. These has never failed me so far. Jour restaurant was awarded The Plate 2018.
I was grateful that Jour de Peche is one of the handful restaurant that opened on Sundays. And on Summer, they offered Al Fresco dining.
I am not sure how frequent does Jour de Peche changes their menu but at least between January and June, the items on the menu are different. Start with a Amuse Bouche, a cold tomato-based soup, it whetted the appetite for more to come.
Skipped the appetisers and went straight into Mains. Crustacean is always my prefered choice hence logically, I opted the Langoustines rôties (33 €). Smokiness from the grill provided an additional texture for the sweet meat.
Turbot cuit sur l’arête (32 €) another grilled dish. The fish was cooked over fire till perfection. With the complimenting side making it a complete meal.
Brownie chocolat noir 66 % (12 €), a fabulous choice for chocolate fan. Strawberry cream and Brownie are such a harmonized pair. The nutty and berry flavour never failed.
Amande, abricot et basilic (11 €)is the other dessert we selected. Almond Cake with both sweet and sourish apricot and with basil to entice the palate.
Rounding up the meal with a full-body, medium acidity filled with dark berry note Espresso, and complementing Madelines.
NAHMJ Verdict
Though meal at Jour de Peche comes with a hefty price tag, it is good enough till I will pay for the price to have an assurance good meal.
