I was attracted to the slogan on the webpage of Avenue cafe, “The Avenue to Design”. It is so apt for its name. From my description so far, I am sure some would have some clue to the concept or theme of the cafe. Probably the first cafe to combine interior design and cafe together.
As much as what was said so far. The design of the entire cafe is match like a home. There is a living room area, kitchen and dinning and glimpse of bedroom. It is very much equivalent to a home.
Besides coffee and food, on its menu is also a free in-house consultation.
Food are simple with hot dog breads, wrap, lasagne, pies for mains; savoury finger snacks and some cakes and pastries with coffee, tea and various ice blended drinks.
I popped over Avenue Cafe for tea. After browsing through the available cake, I ordered a Rainbow Cake, not my fave but I went after its bright colours. I know it is full of artificial colourings. The look gave it away. Anyhow … I ordered which I regretted. Cake was a little too dense and the texture was a little too rough. It was the fine and smooth kind which I prefer.
Coffee was decent though not great. It is probably a dark roast with full body, low acidity and mainly dark chocolate flavour note.
It was the ambience of Avenue Cafe that attracted me. Cosy environment with comfy furniture and complimentary wifi is available too.
