Caffe Bene Singapore is now opened at Vivocity. It has taken over Haagen Dazs. I was waiting in anticipation ever since I saw the poster during its renovation. The wait is finally over. Though it was so near my office, I didn’t manage to visit it on its first day. I only checked it out on their 3rd day of opening.
I felt the space was spacious with tables not too close to each other for most. Since it was by the water, facing Sentosa, it has a nice view.
Everything is self-service at Caffe Bene, from ordering to collection of food are all done over the counter with each at one end.
Caffe Bene menu were the typical Korean Bingsu. You will find some waffles, gelato, honey bread and of course coffee too. If you need some mains, there are various Wraps and Salads available.
Garlic and Cheese Honey Bread seems quite a huge favourite. Bread was certainly fluffy but I wasn’t impressed. I thought it could be better.
The waffle offered at Caffe Bene is the dense and bread like ones. With an option of plain or Walnut dough base of waffle. I opted for the Rice Cake Waffle with Walnut Dough Base. The rice cake was filled with red bean and dusted with some soy bean powder and almond flake. It was a too sweet for me.
I couldn’t resist the Gelato since it was offering one for one. I got the Green Tea and Yogurt. Both flavours were equally good.
Coffee isn’t fantatics but I suppose you could still make do when in need of caffeine fix.
The Fruit Tea (Citron Tea) was available in either hot or cold. I had it hot, was refreshing but a little too sweet.
NAHMJ would certain go for its gelato and I wouldn’t mind the waffle too, though it was a little sweet.
