In Dubai, you can find Indian restaurants everywhere. I suppose this is due to the large Indian community in Dubai. I was told by my Indian colleagues who were stationed in Dubai that the two best Indian restaurants in Dubai are Kwality Restaurant and Khanza Restaurant so I went to check it out the 2 Best Indian Restaurants In Dubai when I was there.

Likewise, we ordered some grilled.

Khazana Restaurant

My colleagues from Dubai took us to Khazana when we were at Dubai for an implementation of SAP.

They told us that this is the best Indian Restaurant in Dubai

The 2 Best Indian Restaurants In Dubai - Khazana Restaurant - Khazana Restaurant - Grilled Meat

They ordered various grills

and curries

and some Papadum for us to try.

I love them all. But my Singaporean colleagues aren’t used to some of the curries. They love the Papadum.

Our Verdict?

Among the two, we prefer Khazana Restaurant to Kwality Restaurant. We find that the food served in Khazana was more delicious, more tasty. We find that some of the dishes served Kwality restaurant was a little too salty and some of the grilled were partly burnt.

Whenever I travel, I will still try to attend mass on Sundays. At times, I have difficulties finding a catholic church as not all dioceses like Singapore publishes the various parishes mass schedule and its location.

In Dubai, as it is a Muslim nation, weekends starts on Friday, so I attended mass on a Saturday instead of my usual rountine, on Sunday.

St Mary's Catholic Church, Dubai

For those planning to attend mass in Dubai, you can visit St Mary’s Catholic Church. The land where St Mary’s Church was located, was donated by the late Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab of Emirates (UAE) in 1966 to build a church. The project was led by His Excellency Most Rev Bishop Bernard Gremoli, assited by Rev Father Daniel Cerofolini OFM. Cap and Father Michael Cardoz.

The building has a modern architecture. The church interior is simple. It has a capacity for 1700 worshippers.

Burj Khalifa in Dubai standing at over 800 metres high is currently (in 2014) the world’s tallest building. It has an observation deck, On the Top, located at level 124. On a clear day, you will have a good view of the Burj Al Arab.

The entry to the observation deck is from Dubai Mall. From the entrance to the lift lobby is quite a distance. As I walked through the walkway, I viewed the exhbits telling the story of how the building was borned.

The lift will take me to the observation deck, On the top, at level 124 from ground floor within a minute. I got some ear pressure discomfort.

Viewing from the top, I saw traces of dessert. It is really amazing that Dubai is built on a desert. I saw a blurry Burj Al Arab as it wasn’t a sunny clear sky that day. On a clear day, the Burj Al Arab and maybe the Hotel Atlantis Dubai can be seen. Nevertheless, I walked round to enjoy the 360° view.

At the top, beside getting a view, there is a souvenir booth selling miniature Burj Khalifa, t-shirt and many more.

Before exiting for the lift, I spotted a gold vending machine.

After taking photos of the view from Burj Khalifa, I did some shopping in Dubai Mall.

The ticket to Burj Khalifa’s observation deck can be purchase over the its website.

Burj Al Arab, Dubai, does not allow tourists to enter the premises if you do not have a reservation with them. I was curious and was eager to take a look at the interior of this 7-star hotel (one and only 7-star hotel in the world) when I first visited Dubai, UAE. As I did not know the hotel has such policy, I was denied entrance. So on my second visit, I made a reservation for high tea, emailing the hotel before I set off for Dubai. The hotel will send an email reservation confirmation and to gain entry to the hotel, this copy must be brought along, to be shown to the security at the gate. From the gate to the hotel building, it is linked by a bridge. The hotel provides buggy to ferry guests from the entrance to the hotel. Alternatively, you can take a slow stroll, admiring the scenario, the beach and the Persian Gulf.

When you set foot at the hotel entrance, you were welcomed by a spacious, high ceiling lobby with glittering gold paint and gold ornaments. I walked around to satisfy my curosity and of course not forgetting to take lots of photo. The afternoon high tea is at Sahn Eddar, located on the first floor of the hotel. Please note that smart casual is the dress code. When I was at the restaurant, I was promptly served by the service staff. The service staff were friendly and helpful. I was then shown to my table. You can choose to have it with champagne or with unlimited non-alcoholic drink. In addition to the drinks, you get to choose either coffee or tea. They have a pretty good selection of tea. At the start of the high tea, you will be served the glass of champagne or the non-alcoholic drink and some sandwiches. Once you finished the first drink, you will serve the tea or coffee. In case you want it before your drink, you need to made known to the service staff. The sorbet was served when you finished the sandwiches. Right after that, the sweet pastries, cakes and tarts were served.

There were some selection of tea cakes and cookies to choose from as well. Next you will be served the scones. It came with jams and cream. Finally chocolates were served to end the high tea with a sweet note. Lots of food for tea, I end up with no dinner.
