Thai cuisine is a popular selection among Singaporean. And when I got to know about Noodle Thai Thai Kitchen, serving authentic Thai food at Beach Road, I was delighted to give them a try.

Located along Beach Road, next to Good Old Days Bistro, though may not be the most convenient location served by the Downtown line (Bugis) and Circle line (Nicoll Highway), it is still manageable to get there with public transport.

Highlight From Noodle Thai Thai Kitchen Menu

Begin with some starters. Crowd-favourite Soft-Shell Crab with Mango Salad or Salted Egg to please all diners; depending on preference. I love both.

Grilled or deep-friend pork collar is a stable on Thai menu, at Noodle Thai Thai Kitchen, they offered addictive Thai Style Dry Pork (Pork Collar).

Next is a must, especially for diner who loves egg, Thai Crispy Omelette.

It was my first attempt of the Thai Style White Curry with Seafood. Personally, I find it light and not as aromatic as the red curry or even the green curry, but still flavourful enough to savour the herb and spice in the dish. White curry goes well with seafood.

Noodle

Basil Minced Chicken Jade Noodles with Sous Vide Egg, a simple and wholesome dish.

Signature Jade Noodles with Flower Clams is one my favourite item at the restaurant. Intense basil aroma and clam favourite infused into the noodle. The result was extremely intense and tasty.

Khaosoi with Mee Pok (Northern Chiangmai Style), Mee Pok in Curry Chicken was an interesting dish and wasn’t too spicy.

Round-up the meal with the Mango Sticky Rice or other Thai dessert.

NAHMJ Verdict

After having so much of the ubiquitous Thai dishes, savouring unusual items such as White Curry makes Noodle Thai Thai Kitchen a good option for Thai food.

After 2 years, Blue Jasmine new menu was launched. I am excited to find out if they have maintained or up their standard. I have fond memories of the Thai dishes that I first savour.

Interior remains the same. I didn’t notice any change. Though they did some re-arrangement to the outdoor area.

Highlights of Blue Jasmine New Menu

In the new menu, there is no pork and no lard and they are featuring communal-style dishes with more street food items. First is the aromatic deep-fried Sesame Beef. A typical beer grub food but also great to go with rice. Dip in the home-made sauce for a different experience.

The ubiquitous Mango Salad offered at Blue Jasmine is with a twist, salted egg is added to give that intense savoury flavour. I find it helps to cut down the spiciness too.

Red Curry, with a choice of chicken or beef. Grapes, pineapples and lychees were added to the fresh coconut milk-based curry to give that sweet fruity hint.

Ending the meal with a sweet note, we recommend the Red Ruby with coconut ice cream and the Durian Pengat.

Lunch Set

Together with Blue Jasmine New Menu, they have launched the value-for-money lunch set, option of Rice or Noodle Lunch Set starting at $13++. Each lunch set comes with a dessert and a appetiser.

The Rice Lunch Set, Chicken Pad Kaprao, Thai basil chicken with snake beans served with Blue Jasmine signature blue Thai jasmine rice crowned with a fried egg. The set comes with vegetarian spring rolls and Thai chendol.

While the Noodle Lunch Set consists of glass noodles in an robust Southern-style Seafood Tom Yum Soup complemented with Thai fish cakes and the classic mango sticky rice dessert.

NAHMJ Verdict

I am so glad that dishes from the Blue Jasmine New Menu met my expectation. With the affordable lunch set, it would attract crowd.

Baan Ying Singapore is presenting One Meal Around Thailand from 9 July till 30 September with the support of the Toursim Authority of Thailand. They recently received the Royal Thai Government’s Thai SELECT Premium’ award for quality Thai cuisine, beautiful interior and outstanding service.

We are no stranger to Baan Ying with our most recent visit for the Great Baan Ying Brunch. It’s always a joy to revisit a restaurant that you will be reassured of the quality.

One Meal Around Thailand

Baan Ying offers three set menus; for two (Superior Set), four (Deluxe Set) and eight persons (Grand Tour Set) priced at $58.80++, $128.80++ and $298.80++ respectively. The objective was to feature the different dishes in North, North-East, Central and South regions of Thailand.

We were privileged to try the Grand Tour Set which comprises 12 dishes from starters to desserts.

Starters

Diners are served a welcome drink, Fresh Coconut complemented with an Amuse Bouche, Larb Gai.

Appetiser

Whet your appetite with Nam Prik from 4 regions. This dish is about enjoying the fresh raw vegetable produce with chilli dips. The version at Baan Ying Singapore is adapted with poached vegetable instead. First dip is the crowd favourite, Nam Prik Goong Seab (Dried Shrimp Chilli Dip) from the Southern region, also the least spicy. Next is a dip made with Thai fish sauce, tamarind and dried chillies, Nam Prik Tah Daeng (Red Chilli Dip). Followed by the Northeastern Thai, Soup Makuer (Spicy Thai Eggplant Chilli Dip). Lastly is a dip representing Sukhothai way of life, Lhon Pla Kem (Salted Fish Dip).

Appetising Som Tum Platter with assorted toppings with customised spicy level. To ensure that you get to enjoy it freshed, they prepare it at the table.

Kub Kao (Main)

A total of 6 mains. First is the sweetish Gaeng Hang Leh (Pork Belly Curry), a traditional curry of Northern Thailand with Myanmar-influence.

One of my favourite dish in the Grand Tour Set is a dish from Southern Thailand, Sator Pad Goong (Stir-fried Bitter Bean with Shrimp). The scent of fish sauce, garlic, petai mingled together with the minced meat created an unique flavour which is probably an acquired taste.

Silky Khai Pam (Grilled Omelette) with banana leaf aroma is comparative to the Chawanmushi’s texture. This is a dish from the Northern-rendition.

Next is another traditional dish from the Southern region, comforting Gai Tom Kamin (Chicken Soup in Tumeric Broth). Tumeric was not overpower the chicken soup, in fact, it elevated the flavour.

One last main, Gaeng Tae Po Pla Kem (Salted Fish and Morning Glory in Coconut Milk Soup), no photo, is akin to our vegetable curry but with intense coconut flavour and kaffir lime hint.

Dessert

Round-up the One Meal Around Thailand with Creme Brulee Cha Thai (Thai Milk Tea Creme Brulee), accompanied with Herbal Tea (Mulberry, Lemongrass or Bael Fruit). I love the dessert, aromatic Thai Milk Tea custard with savoury hint not has the perfect sweetness level.

NAHMJ Verdict

Savouring the dishes from other region in Thailand that we were not exposed previously at One Meal Around Thailand at Baan Ying Singapore is not only a feast but an educational meal to the Thai cuisine.

When we hear the words Ang Kor Wat, we think of Cambodia. As such, don’t mistaken Ang Kor Wat Restaurant for a Cambodian restaurant. In fact, they serve Singaporean favourite cuisine, Thai food.

Located at the edge of the hustling CBD, it offers a quaint environment for the executive to get away for a quiet lunch.

The name is inspired by the iconic Buddhist temple in AngKor Wat and they
aim to provide diners with serenity and calmness.

From Ang Kor Wat Menu

Ang Kor Wat boasts a plethora of familiar crowd-pleaser and crowd favourite Thai dishes.

Begin the meal with well-marinated chicken Skewers. Best paired with beer.

Cashew Chicken though was tasty, it was a little dry.

Our favourite among the 8-course was the signature Crispy Pork Belly. We agreed that we shouldn’t share this dish.

Generous amount of fresh seafood in the Superior Tom Yum Soup. It was too spicy for me to tolerate and strangely, it slanted towards the sweet spectrum.

The Sambal Kang Kong likewise was saccharine, however due to the beany favourite, it complemented.

Another dish with more sweet hint, the Thai Red Curry; very spicy too.

Before ending the meal with dessert, we have the Seafood Bucket. Sweetish nutty sauce perfectly for the seafood selection of crayfish, clams and prawns with corn pieces. We love this dish.

Finally, wash it down with Red Ruby. Chunky red ruby with a crispy water chestnut and lightly chewy glutinous layer. What we love about it was; it was lightly saccharine.

NAHMJ Verdict

Hit and misses at Ang Kor Wat Restaurant. As long as they tweak a little, adjusting to fit the local palate, they will do fine.

Chapter One of the 100 Gourmet being with the March Edition at Basque Kitchen. Now it is time for Chapter 2. The 100 Gourmet April 2019 was held at Tangerine.

Featuring in the April edition was Celebrity Chef Ian Kittichai from Tangerine and Chef Thitid Tassanakajohn (Ton) from the critically acclaimed Bangkok-based Le Du paired to offer Thai food using contemporary culinary techniques with familiar Thai ingredients.

The pair created a 6 course menu with each came up 3 items. The same menu was available for both lunch and dinner from 11 to 14 April. Lunch is priced at $100++ for SingTel customer and $180++ for the general public while dinner is at $110++ for SingTel customer and $180++ for the general public.

100 Gourmet April 2019

Once we were settled comfortably in our seat, Spring Onion Bread with Spring Onion spread was dished to our table. Soft sweet bun with spring onion aroma. To enhance the flavour, slab the spread on the bread.

The sequence began with the first course by Chef Ian. And next by Chef Thitd and the arrangement repeats.

Seared Scallop at medium doneness sat on highly acidic Cashew nut milk-pepper dressing with Tangerine’s garden herb preparing the palate for more to come. Plating was beautified with edible flowers and greens to wow the sight of the diner.

Beneath the Cured Fluke was avocado to give the creaminess, together with the tiny diced highly sourish green mango to bring your face grimaced and ginger to mask any fishiness from the cured fish. This dish was inspired by Thai’s favourite green sauce, “nam jim” seafood.

Sustainable Sea Bass Soup, a piece of freshly steamed Sea Bass on Galangal Broth. Flavours dominated by tumeric, sourness and coconut aroma. The broth has perfect balance of all elements and bring comfort to the taste bud and stomach.

Lobster in Signature Southern Style Curry consists of smoked pumpkin and signature Chu-Chee curry. By far, this was the most spicy dish of the night. It left a fiery burning sensation on the tongue and at the same time yielded the satisfaction with the acclamation “shiok”.

Melt-in-the-mouth “Hunglay” Iberico Pork with an intense brown sauce kindred the classic Northern Thai Curry. Accompanied with rice for wholesomeness and as not to waste the delicious sauce.

After polishing off the silky Mango Panna Cotta, I couldn’t help but to relish the smoky coconut ice cream that is so untraditional complemented the mango flavour uniquely and perfectly. It left me desire for more.

NAHMJ Verdict

As I write, I relished at every bit of the 6-course at Tangerine from the 100 Gourmet April 2019 edition. I hope the duo, Chef Ian Kittichai and Chef Thitid Tassanakajohn will join hands together in the near future to bring on more epicure.

Introducing The Great Baan Ying Brunch at the only outlet in Singapore, perched at the second floor of Royal Square @ Novena. In the form of semi-buffet with a choice of Main.

For those who frequent Bangkok must have heard of Baan Ying, which means ‘House of Ying’, started in 1999 at Bangkok’s Siam Square. I am sure among these travellers, might have tried them. The good news is that they landed on the shore of Singapore and find themselves a comfort nest at level 2 of Royal Square.

The Great Baan Ying Brunch

On rotational basis, on each weekend, diner could find 12 to 15 delectable spread. Priced at $38.80++ per adult and $19.40++ per child (four to ten years old; kids under three dine free; child price includes a complimentary fruit juice). Top up $29.80++ to enjoy free-flow of beer and wine from 11am to 3pm.

Homely item such as the Kai Jiew Koong (Omelette with shrimp & Onions). The Kiew Krop Na Tung (Crispy Wanton Skin with POrk and Shrimp Dip), great as snack.

My favourite among the spread is the Yum Pla Foo (Crispy Fish Flakes with Mango Salad Dressing). Highly aromatic with unique flavour coupled with the sourish, spicy appetising Mango Salad Dressing is simply divine.

Each day at The Great Baan Ying Brunch, there will be a soup of the day, fried rice of the day and Curry of the day. On the day of our visit, we got the appetising Tom Yum Gai (Tom Yum Chicken), tasty Khao Pad Moo Krob Kai Kem (Pork Belly Fried Rice with Salted Egg) and delectable Kaeng Ped Moo (Pineaple Curry with Pork).

At a glance, lots of pork dishes to rejoice.

Rarely seen is the Nam Prik of The Day, a type of Thai Chilli Sauce which are eaten with blanched vegetabales or glutinous rice. The spiciness level range from mild (with tomato) to fiery (with green chilli).

At The Great Baan Ying Brunch, diners have the opportunity to DIY your own Som Tum (Papaya Salad). Hence, you can customise your style of Papaya salad.

Dessert such as Rainbow Ruby, Purple sweet potato in coconut milk or coconut jelly might be available.

Choice of Mains

4 choices of Mains. All Mains has the baby corn and cherry tomato as sides.

First, which we think is the best, the Bone-in Iberico Pork Chop. An additional $9.80++ is needed when you choose this. Simple seasoning with pepper and salt to bring out the flavours.

A safe choice, select the Pan-fried Salmon Steak. What we enjoyed is the crispy skin.

Two large Grilled Large River Prawns with tasty lemongrass floss elevated the flavour. Though 2 might be too little in terms of quantity, however, it is the quality that is more important.

A pity, I didn’t get to try the Angus Beef Steak.

NAHMJ Verdict

The Great Baan Ying Brunch is value-for-money with lots of quality, tasty buffet spread. What’s more, there is choice of Mains too.

First outpost of Thailand’s Go-Ang Kaomunkai Pratunam, a Michelin Bib Gourmand award winner, who specialises in Hainanese chicken rice in the Pratunam district of Bangkok, Thailand since 1960, landed in Singapore’s NEX shopping mall. After 58 years, the popular eatery was awarded Michelin Bib Gourmand Award in the inaugural Bangkok edition of Michelin Guide.

This is made possible by The Minor Food Group Singapore, with well-known brand Thai Express and Xin Wang Hong Kong Cafe. At Go-And Pratunam Chicken Rice Singapore, not only will they serve its signature chicken and rice, The Minor Food Group Singapore designed by complementing dishes and soups catering to local needs.

Original Dishes Of The Menu

Go-Ang Kaomunkai Pratunam Chicken Rice Awarded Michelin Bib Gourmand In Thailand Is Now At Nex - Single Portion Chicken Thigh (S$5.50)

What you could expect on the menu is of course their fame Chicken Rice. First is the Single Portion Chicken Thigh (S$5.50). If diner prefer, opt for Chicken Breast instead. Comparing to local Chicken Rice, Thai rendition is the healthier version. For diner who prefer non-oily chicken rice, Go-ang Kaomunkai Pratunam Chicken Rice is the go to. The flip-side is that it isn’t as aromatic as the local version. Don’t forget the special concocted Thai Chicken Rice chilli sauce using a secret recipe of fermented soya bean, chilli, among other ingredients.

Go-Ang Kaomunkai Pratunam Chicken Rice Awarded Michelin Bib Gourmand In Thailand Is Now At Nex - Gizzard

Chicken Gizzard is also available on the menu. I am sure our senior folks at home welcome these additions.

Complementing Dishes

Complementing dishes Signature Braised Pork (S$8/small) and Chai Poh Omelette are well-received. Don’t forget to dip the omelette with the special fish sauce.

Followed by the crowd faourite, Stir Fried Sliced Tofu with Dark Soya Sauce (S$8). With both sweet and savoury flavours emitted from the dark soya sauce, some diners find this dish stood out for them.

Next, the Steamed Sea Bass with Chilli, Lime & Garlic (S$28), yet another recommended dish. The sourish, spicy taste will whet your appetite for more.

Go-Ang Kaomunkai Pratunam Chicken Rice Awarded Michelin Bib Gourmand In Thailand Is Now At Nex - Steamed Sea Bass with Chilli, Lime & Garlic (S$28)

Personal favourite is the Stir Fried Basil Chicken with Kai Lan (S$8). I could savour the fragrance of basil and the crunch from the Baby Kai was perfect choice for the dish.

For diners who love soup, a good option is the Bitter Melon & Pork Rib Soup. For someone who doesn’t like bittergourd, I was able to handle the level of bitterness. Perhaps due to the many other flavours masking the unpleasant sense.

Go-Ang Kaomunkai Pratunam Chicken Rice Awarded Michelin Bib Gourmand In Thailand Is Now At Nex - Bitter Melon Soup

Desserts

Rounding up the meal with some truly Thai desserts such as Homemade Red Ruby with Coconut Ice Cream and Steamed Tapioca with Coconut Cream. Among the 2 choices which we tried, I would go back for the latter as the flavour was richer. Unlike the former, it was flat and light.

Ensuring Quality

Finally, to ensure the authenticity of the cuisine, Mr. Sombat Pruekpaiboon assisted with the launch of the Singaporean venue. Furthermore, all kitchen staff were trained by Go-Ang founder Mr. Sombat Pruekpaiboon at the original restaurant in Bangkok.

NAHMJ Verdict

For the health conscious who wants Chicken Rice, Go-Ang Kaomunkai Pratunam Chicken Rice Singapore is the place to turn to.

Thailand’s leading beer brand, Chang, celebrates the delicacy and diversity of Thai cuisine with the return of its annual gastronomic adventure Chang Sensory Trails, a multi-sensory experience focused on iconic Thai flavours. Chang Sensory Trails 2018, the third edition, travelled to London and Los Angeles, will land in Singapore from 31 August to 1 September 2018 at The Lawn at Marina Bay with free admission.

A total of 8 participating outlets will be at Chang Sensory Trails 2018, serving a handful of signature dishes. Little Elephant Thai Bistro is one of them and I have an opportunity to dine at the restaurant to experience the quality dishes ourselves.

Chang Sensory Trails 2018, Little Elephant Thai Bistro Serves Authentic Thai Home Recipes - Al Fresco dinning

Thai cuisine, like the crafting of Chang beer, embodies the Thai philosophy of Lamiat, which emphasises attention to detail and looking beyond the ordinary. Underpinning this philosophy is the deep and authentic appreciation of the small things that refine and produce perfection.

Chang Sensory Trails 2018

As part of the Chang Sensory Trails 2018, I visited Little Elephant Thai Bistro located at Tiong Bahru area.

Chang Sensory Trails 2018, Little Elephant Thai Bistro Serves Authentic Thai Home Recipes - Fixture

Decked in a coffeeshop-esque setting (the venue used to be an coffeeshop selling local delights), the interior has been designed to incorporate an old-school vibe with modern elements to keep its look up-to-date. The indoor dining area is smaller than the al-fresco dining area outside; whilst the al-fresco dining area is largely made up of usual seatings, patrons can also choose to take a seat at the tables that are shaped like wooden boats meant for two pax for a more unique experience.

Nam Tok Kor Moo Yang

This Grilled Pork Neck Salad gets its balanced flavour from a tangy homemade dressing made with ground dried chillies, lime juice, mint leaves, fish sauce and fresh spring onions. The tender pork neck has a light chewy texture and it makes the dish incredible and win me over.

Kor Moo Yang

Selected Pork Neck grilled with low temperature is soft & tender in every bite. Perfectly complemented with homemade tamarind sauce for a bold sour sweet spicy kick.

Krapow Neua

The beef in the Stir Fry Sliced Beef with Holy Basil is sous vide for 48 hours at 65 degrees before stir-fried with holy basil and bell peppers. The bell peppers / capsicum make the dish looks so colourful and also give a lovely fragrance and crunchy texture. Highly recommended.

Kung Tod Thakrai

Fresh, Juicy deshelled prawns tossed in a sticky herbal sweet gravy that has a strong fragrance of lemongrass and honey. It makes the dish remarkable. Best paired the Stir-fried Prawn in Lemongrass & Honey Sauce with a bowl of jasmine rice.

Pla meuk pad kai kem

The chef brings soft and chewy squid to fried with delicious salted egg. The Fried Squid with Salted Egg has a bouncy chew to texture and it gets cloying on its own.

Tom Yum Kung

A classic Tom Yum Goong is characterized by its distinct hot and sour flavours, with fragrant spices and herbs generously used in the broth. The basic broth is made of stock and fresh ingredients such as lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves, galangal, lime juice, fish sauce, and crushed chili peppers. The prawns are large and fresh, there are also chunks of mackerel fish, oyster mushrooms and ripe tomatoes. The level of spiciness is just nice to me.

Un-Yang-Kor-Dai (which means Anything Goes) specialises in Isan Thai Food (North-eastern region of Thai). The ingredients commonly used in preparing Isan Food are chili peppers, lime, peanuts, dried shrimp, fresh fruits and vegetables, sticky rice, cilantro, mint and other fresh herbs. It explains the bold, complex and flavourful dishes that are created. Hailed from Khao Yai, Thailand, the Singapore outlet found its home at unit 57 of South Bridge Road.

Singapore has no lack of Thai restaurants, and the F&B scene is cut-throat competitive. And I am surprised that they chose a off-the-radar location.

Un-Yang-Kor-Dai Dishing Delicious On Point Authentic Thai Food At South Bridge Road - Interior

Un-Yang-Kor-Dai Dishing Delicious On Point Authentic Thai Food At South Bridge Road - Another view of interior

Interior looks rather raw with cemented flooring. The frames of art and painting decorated the otherwise plain-looking empty space. Tables and chairs are function with not much comfy factor.

Un-Yang-Kor-Dai Dishing Delicious On Point Authentic Thai Food At South Bridge Road - Iced Lemongrass and Pandan ($4.80) & Iced Butterfly Pea with Lime ($5.50)

Commence of dinner with a refreshing Drink. I ordered my favourite Iced Lemongrass and Pandan ($4.80) while my friend opted for Iced Butterfly Pea with Lime ($5.50). Both drinks were amazing, especially the latter drink. Lime flavour with the sparkling soda was simply wonderful.

Un-Yang-Kor-Dai Dishing Delicious On Point Authentic Thai Food At South Bridge Road - Crackers

While waiting for our food, we have the addictive complimentary crackers to go along with our drinks.

From The Menu

One of the popular Isan dishes is the Thai Papaya Salad with Fresh Prawns ($13.50). Each of the flavour is distinct. The nuttiness from the abundant peanut set this dish apart from its competitors.

Un-Yang-Kor-Dai Dishing Delicious On Point Authentic Thai Food At South Bridge Road - Tom Yum Fresh Prawns, Clear Soup ($18.90)

Tom Yum Fresh Prawns soup (with coconut milk) was the signature, though we opted for Tom Yum Fresh Prawns, Clear Soup ($18.90). The harmless looking clear soup is highly appetising and at the same time tongue-burning as it was quite spicy even though we have requested for less spicy.

Un-Yang-Kor-Dai Dishing Delicious On Point Authentic Thai Food At South Bridge Road - Stir-Fried Morning Glory with Chilli and Garlic ($11)

Stir-Fried Morning Glory with Chilli and Garlic ($11) commonly found on Thai menu, also a crowd-favourite, is a yet another highly spicy dish. We love it as the wok hei.

Un-Yang-Kor-Dai Dishing Delicious On Point Authentic Thai Food At South Bridge Road -Steamed Whole Sea Bass (500g) in Spicy Lime Sauce ($28)

Steamed Whole Sea Bass (500g) in Spicy Lime Sauce ($28) was a fiery spicy dish; steamed to perfection with the punching sauce. Heated over a small flame, can cause over cooked to the fish. Therefore, it is good to finish up the fish as soon as it was served.

Un-Yang-Kor-Dai Dishing Delicious On Point Authentic Thai Food At South Bridge Road - Sweet Sticky Rice with Mango ($9)

Easily one of the best Sweet Sticky Rice with Mango ($9). Paring the aromatic coconut infused sticky rice with an equal amount of sweet Mango was simply perfect.

NAHMJ Verdict

The food whipped at Un-Yang-Kor-Dai are above mediocre. I would describe them as authentic Thai Food. Delicious as they may be, the dishes are fiery spicy too. Do remember to ask for less spice if you can’t tolerate spicy food too well.

Bangkok Jam, one of the best known household name for Thai food has been filling bellies for 11 years, their new outlet at Bugis+ is designed and decorated with bright lights and luscious flowers, the revamped Bangkok Jam @ Bugis+ outlet showcases a bold and modern interior that transport one to the trendy cafes that filled the streets of Bangkok.

Bangkok Jam @ Bugis+ also launches a new 3-course Executive Set Lunch alongside the launch of the new outlet. Expect to taste the delectable medley of traditional and contemporary flavours of Bangkok with signature dishes like Chicken in Green Curry, Red Tom Yum Soup and Beef Noodles Soup. All set lunches are served with a small Mango Salad a refreshing Iced Lemon Tea. For a hearty meal, diners can further complete their meal with the add-on options of the new Crepe Cakes and Sago desserts.

Chicken in Green Curry with Thai Jasmine Rice

It is easy and delicious, perfect for a quick lunch or dinner. The main ingredient of green curry is cilantro root or cilantro stems (not the leaves) and fresh green chilies, hence the name green curry. The green curry is spicy, rich and creamy, savory (from the fish sauce) and sweet (from palm sugar or sugar).

Red Tom Yum Soup with Seafood and Thai Jasmine Rice

The Thai Tom Yum Soup is characterised by its distinct hot and sour flavors. The fragrant spices and herbs used in the broth make the Tom Yum soup more like a symphony rather than a solo or even a quartet. When you take a bite of the soup, you will appreciate the balance of flavors, ingredients and textures.

Beef Noodles Soup

It is a mild but flavor packed dish, beef strips and beef balls are served in a tasty and clear soup on a bed of rice noodles.  It reminds me of Vietnamese Pho, and is a meaty and filling meal.

Chocolate Chili Cake / Thai Milk Tea Crepe Cake and Chocolate Crepe Cake

Other than the modern Thai fare that Bangkok Jam is known for, Bangkok Jam@ Bugis+  also features a brand new dessert bar that display specially handcrafted Thai sweet treats, including scrumptious crepe cakes, appetising jar desserts, this new dessert menu will be a perfect treat for your sweet tooth.

Thai Milk Tea Crepe Cake is a classic delight that is layered with Thai Milk Tea cream and topped with sweet red beans, it is worth to check it out. When I looked at the dessert menu, I was looking forward to the Chili Chocolate Cake  – it is such a moist and dense chocolate delight, it is generously coated with rich chocolate ganache that’s packed a slight fiery punch at the end of every bite.

Green Milk Tea Snow Ice

The new snow ice selection is definitely a must try! Perfect for sharing amongst large groups, the new icy delight has plenty of tasty surprises hidden within it. It is drenched with sweet red bean sauce, Azuki beans, crushed peanuts and vanilla ice cream. This amazing dessert brought me so much pleasure.

Pining for Mango Waffle

I am not a fan of waffle, but the fresh mango cubes and vanilla ice cream just made the waffle much more interesting. It is light, crispy and refreshing.

NAHMJ Verdict

The new chic Bangkok Jam @ Bugis+ outlet possesses an atmosphere perfect to relax and unwind; definitely no chip of the old block – what further set it apart from other outlets is the menu.
