To my surprise, the Spring Menu At Tandoor offers exquisite Indian dishes with touch of French. Who would ever dream of that. The bold and experimental Executive Chef and Head Chef Bobby Krishnan executed the menu extremely well.
Since French element is present in the dishes, diners could expect fine dinning plating, ingredients such as truffle, quail are used in the dishes.
Spring Menu At Tandoor
The Spring Menu at Tandoor is a 4-course menu with 2 selections for the starters and mains.
Begin by choosing either the Masala Crab Cake which is a crowd-favourite or Tandoori Quail. I gladly choose quail over the former since it is a rare meat. Most important reason is that due to the light smokiness, it elevated the flavour of the grilled meat.
Next is a soup, Makai Ka Shorba. A sweet corn based soup with quail egg and gnochi. Enjoy the soup with the Mascarpone Cheese and Truffle stuffing Naan; one is not enough.
I love the tender flavourful Australian lamb shank though I know of many who will shun away from lamb much more than the safe choice, Sea perch Pakora.
Complement the Main with Dal Makhani and Kesari Pulao.
Lastly, polish off the meal with French classic dessert with a twist, Cardamom ice cream & citrus profiteroles.
Many moments I thought I was enjoying French fine dinning 4-course meal. The chef has waved in those element so seamlessly. In my opinion, it was well-thought and crafted.
