The Blue Ginger originated at Tanjong Pagar, a Michelin Bib Gourmand recipient for the past three years now has its second outlet at the newly revamped Great World.
At this new outlet, it presents a classy and modern space.
Highlight of The Blue Ginger Menu
My first time to the revamped Great World was for Ho Fook Hei Soy Sauce Chicken. I am so glad to know that the mall offers so much of exciting Food & Beverages options.
Kick-start the meal with crowd favourite starters Kueh Pie Tee ($8 for 4 pcs). For the adventurous diners, opt for the Kerabu Timun ($8.50); a dish of chicken gizzards with cucumbers and tomatoes in refreshing belachan chilli paste.
Ayam Panggang “Blue Ginger” ($16) is one of my favourite dish among the items I tried; grilled chicken covered in fragrant gravy. The thought was mouth-watering.
A well-received dish is the Beef Rendang ($20). One of the most amazing Rendang. The meat was tender and absorbed the sauce of rendang sauce.
For those who love pork, don’t forget to order the Pork Ribs Assam ($16).
One of the most wonderful dish, which I love at the dinner was the Sotong Keluak ($22). I will never imagine that buah keluak could go so well with Sotong.
Complementing the meat dishes with some vegetables such as Terong Goreng Cili ($11). Love the chilli that laced on the eggplant. I won’t mind more of the chilli.
Nonya Noodles ($15) is a popular choice among the diners, however, as I don’t enjoy yellow noodles, it is not a dish I will order.
For dessert, a highly recommended dessert is the Chendol, diner could opt for Chendol or Durian Chendol ($5 / $7). Many raved about the dish due to the gula melaka. It was a pity that mine serving has so little till I would literally say there isn’t any in my bowl.
NAHMJ Verdict
Price versus quality, makes The Blue Ginger a value-for-money Peranakan Restaurant that serve delicious food. I will return.
