Tamashii Restaurant, 7-Courses Lunch, at North Canal Road – Raffles Place, Singapore

I have long heard about Tamashii, sister’s restaurant of Boruto which I visited a while ago. Looking at my blog post, I realised it was more than three years ago.

Tamashii is situated on North Canal Road, a stone throw from Boruto. I visited them at lunch on a Saturday. In fact, I prefer to dine on a Sunday, however, they are closed.

On the lunch menu, there are Mains with Don and Ramen choices served with salad, steam egg, miso soup and dessert. For a luxurious option, opt for Kaede 6-course or Tamashii 7-course lunch. I choice the latter.

Tamashii 7-Courses Lunch

Begin the lunch of the 7-course meal with 3 Assorted Appetisers; Salmon Fish Roe with Yuzu marinate, Sea Cucumber with Ponzu and Deep-fried Gyoza skin puff with tomato. I love the combination of the 3 items, thought they complemented each other.

Premium Sashimi such as salmon belly, fatty tuna, yellow tail were on the platter.

Subsequently, Char Grilled Fish Cheek was served. Personally, I prefer it will more salt marinated on the skin.

Rejoice Truffle’s fan. On the 7-course, there were 2 items consisting of truflle. First is the Truffle Chawanmushi, Silky steam egg with overwhelming truffle. Good or Bad thing, it is a preference I suppose.

Followed by the Wagyu Don, the signature dish of the restaurant. Japanese A4 beef and onsen egg crowned the Japanese rice, with truffle oil and truffle flake to enhance the don.

Last second course was a bowl of Clear Soup with seaweed flavour (not something I like) and a huge clam that was a bit too tough for my jaw. Overall, the flavour was light, almost bland, acting more like a palate cleanser.

Lastly, round-up the meal with Dessert of the Day. On the day of my visit, it was Warabi Mochi, light and refreshing.

NAHMJ Verdict

Tamashii Restaurant is a great place to enjoy the luxurious lunch set.
