‘100 Sichuan Delights, 1 Gastronomic Feast’ Is Back At Si Chuan Dou Hua Restaurant at PARKROYAL on Beach Road – Bugis, Singapore

‘100 Sichuan Delights, 1 Gastronomic Feast’ is back at Si Chuan Dou Hua Restaruant at PARKROYAL on Beach Road for the 4th consecutive year. We savour our first time last year and love it. We can’t wait to share more about this year promotion.

This year the ala carte buffet promotion is available from 8 July to 30 September 2019 at PARKROYAL on Beach Road. $60 per adult and can enjoy a complimentary glass of sake. Children from 6 to 12 at $30.

‘100 Sichuan Delights, 1 Gastronomic Feast’

At the ‘100 Sichuan Delights, 1 Gastronomic Feast’, 102 dishes in 26 flavour profiles will be available. No doubt, diners will be spoiled for choices. Execute Sichuan Chef Zeng Feng wanted to showcase the plethora of flavours of Sichuan cuisine. 23 new dishes were introduced to the feast.

Some of the dishes that we love from last year are also available this year. Such as the Fresh Prawns in Tomato Sauce. Another Tomato Sauce dish that I love is the Stir-fried Sliced Fish in Tomato Sauce.

We are most familiar with Mala flavour; with the most famous being “Chong Qing” Diced Chicken with Dried Chilli and lesser known Boiled Fish Slices in Spicy Soup.

There are some flavours that we find in the Cantonese dishes such as Chinese Rice Wine, Vinegar Sauce, Salty and Sweet and Sour.

One of the highly recommend must order is the Homemade Fine Bean Curd in Hot and Sour Sauce.

Expect to find some unfamiliar sauce such as the Sichuan Exotic Sauce; Steamed Chicken with Exotic Sichuan Sauce and Walnut with Exotic Sichuan Sauce.

For those who love sweet and salty flavour can order the Braised Pork Belly in Honey Sauce.

Five Spice flavour is also found in Sichuan cuisine with Steamed Chicken with Five Spices wrapped in Lotus Leaves.

For the adventurous, try the Marinated Chicken Feet with Preserved Chilli.

And even disappearing flavours (2 flavours); first is the Sichuan Minced Pepper & Spring Onion Sauce – Sliced Chicken in Minced Sichuan Pepper Sauce and Diced Cod with Sichuan Minced Pepper.

Next is the Sesame and Pepper Sauce in Chilled ‘You Mai’ Vegetables in Sesame Sauce and Sichuan Noodles in Sichuan Pepper and Sesame Sauce.

Something I find extremely rare is the Sweet Sauce dishes; Steamed Pork Belly In Sweet Sauce and Stir-fried Dried Fruits with Flour and Sugar.

Not forgetting that at all meal, rounding up with desserts is a must with Red Bean Paste Glutinous Rice Ball and Crispy Sesame Glutinous Rice Ball with Sesame Red Bean Paste.

NAHMJ Verdict

For those who always think that Sichuan has only Mala flavour, come and bewildered by the ‘100 Sichuan Delights, 1 Gastronomic Feast’ at Si Chuan Dou Hua Restaurant at PARKROYAL on Beach Road.
