Ng Ah Sio Bak Kut Teh At Rangoon Road, Fave Bak Kut Teh – Farrer Park, Singapore

Bak Kut Teh is certainly a popular food in Singapore, for both locals and tourists. Brands such as Old Street, Song Fa and Founder Bak Kut Teh are flourishing. I have long heard about Ng Ah Sio Bak Kut Teh and walked past them many times too, not until recently I have the opportunity to try them out. The verdict? I love it. It is part of the Jumbo chain, in case you don’t know.

Ng Ah Sio Bak Kut Teh is located at the end of Rangoon Road, which is a little out of reach. Unless, you are a fan of Non-Entree Dessert as I am, hence explaining why I notice this unassuming Bak Kut Teh shop.

You can locate them at 3 other locations; Chui Huay Lim Club, The Shoppees At Marina Bay Sands and Resort World Sentosa.

Since they are a Bak Kut Teh Shop, I can’t wait but dived into the Bak Kut Teh. The soup is garlicky and peppery. Ng Ah Sio offers 3 different types of Signature Bak Kut Teh. First is the Premium Loin Ribs Soup, Combo Ribs Soup and Classic Pork Ribs Soup. The difference is in the meat.

Diners can opt for Mee Sua or Rice to go with the Bak Kut Teh Soup.

They offered many sides and Teochew Style Specialities. We tried only the Preserved Vegetables and we thought this has to be the best Preserved Vegetables. The texture and the taste were at perfect balance.

Enjoying Gongfu Tea with Bak Kut Teh is the ultimate pairing.

Lastly was the fragant Teochew’s Style Braised Pig Trotter Rice. I was glad that the amount of braised pork was sufficient for the amount of rice.

NAHMJ Verdict

Even though I am not a big fan of Bak Kut Teh, I enjoyed Ng Ah Sio Bak Teh. Personally, I think it is the best so far.
