2019 Top 5 Udon At Tamoya Udon

Tamoya Udon snuggled comfortably in a corner of the ground floor of Liang Court. The udon are made fresh in-house on a daily basis.

If you have not been to Tamoya Udon, here is how you order.

1. Choose the type of udon
2. Pick your sides
3. Make payment
4. Collect your food and add condiments (green onions, ginger, grated radish, seafood and tempura flakes) if needed.

2019 Top 5 Udon At Tamoya Udon

Sanuki Beef Udon

Rich robust sweetness soup with simple ingredients; onsen egg, thin sliced beef, spring onions and crumbs. This is my top pick among the 5 items.

Beef Udon

If you prefer light but yet aromatic and savoury soup, this would be your choice. The other difference is that there is no onsen egg in this as well.

Oooh-mami Udon

A dry udon with dried sakura ebi, fresh spring onions, diced onions and bonito flakes to emit the umami flavour. You either love it or hate it as it has a pungent seafood aroma. I belong to the latter.

Triple Egg

Another dry udon with 3 types of egg per the name of the dish suggested. First is the onsen egg, next is tobiko and lastly, the mentaiko. Overall flavour is mainly briny fragrance from the mentaiko. Certainly well-loved due to mentaiko.

Curry Beef Onsen Udon

Last but not least, the only curry udon. Sweetish and mellow aroma; typical of Japanese curry flavoured the Udon. Accompanied the noodle are finely-sliced beef, pickled, spring onions, crumbs and onsen egg. Mixed well for extra creaminess and fragrance.

NAHMJ Verdict

Depending on your preference and perhaps mood too, you will find your favourite chocie among the 2019 Top 5 Udon At Tamoya Udon.

My is the Sanuki Beef Udon, followed by the Beef Udon.
