Anti:dote Afternoon Tea, Fairmont Singapore – City Hall, Singapore

Anti:dote Afternoon Tea fit the bill as when friends gathered for the purpose of catching-up, we prefer to sit at a comfortable crouch, enjoy the delicious food and have a relaxing afternoon chit-chatting and perhaps gossiping as well. Hence, buffet is not the best.

Located at the ground floor of Fairmont Singapore, with mainly oversized sofa-seats for diners to sit back and enjoy the finger-sized food and tea.

Anti:dote Afternoon Tea

We dined during the first half of February 2019 and Anti:dote was offering the Anti:dote Romance Afternoon Tea priced at $55++ per adult and $25++ per child (6 to 12 years old).

Begin the Afternoon Tea with choice of Starter, 63oc organic egg, purple cauliflower with crispy foie gras or Seasonal truffles, slow-cooked egg with chives.

The bite-size items are presented in a 3-tier elegant cream drawers with medley of both savoury and sweets items.

The bottom drawer consists of the spreads for the scone. With Homemade Lemon curd, Raspberry Jam and Devonshire Clotted Cream, a must for scone. In it, there are tea biscuit too.

Two types of scones; plain and raspberry.

Moving up the drawers are 4 assortment of Sandwiches. First is the
Ginger duck rillette with mustard cream and blinis crumb. Next is the Smoked salmon with lemon cream cheese, ikura roe and pumpernickel. followed by the Spiced chicken with hummus and yogurt wrap. Lastly, the Braised abalone, beetroot, potato tart.

Sweet ending of 8 desserts. Cone of Raspberry rose, velve cheese. By the sides are the Ruby chocolate. In the fore-front are the Kumquat marmalade, Chocolate crémeux Black currant, Matcha mascarpone choux puff for the matcha fan. Next were the Madagascar vanilla cream, Apricot & frangipane shortbread and last but not least, Sudaichi crémeux cum beetroot almond sable.

Before the start choose either tea from a comprehensive tea menu or coffee with limited choice.

NAHMJ Verdict

Do note that reservation for the Anti:dote Afternoon Tea is required and in fact, for a large group of 5 like mine, a deposit is required. The amount of food seems minute, however, none of us finished all the selection.

We like the afternoon tea as we get to sit down throughout the 2 hours since all the items were served. This allowed us to sit back and relax and fully engage in our conversation.
