Mister Wu, Delicious and Value-for-money Lunch Set – Chinatown, Singapore

Mister Wu took over the space left by Jimoto-Ya who left China Squre for Joo Chiat. The decoration of the interior remains the same.

Menu at Mister Wu differ from day and night. Lunch set is extremely value-for-money. There are either $11 or $15 lunch set whereby diners get to choose a Noodle or a Rice, a side and a Tea (all hot except one cold).

Mister Wu, Delicious and Value-for-money Lunch Set - Sides

There are a handful of sides option. I was attracted to a number such as Pi Tan Tofu, Jellyfish and the Ping Pong Wanton. Our first choice of side was a Chicken item. I can’t remember the name of the dish. It turned out to be 3 thinly slice chicken roll. Light lychee and floral flavour. Very unique taste.

I chose the Fried Ping Pong Wanton. When I saw it on the menu, I wonder why it was named Ping Pong. Only to realize when it was served. The size is huge and equivalent to the size of the Ping Pong. Tasty crispy wanton with good amount of filling. In short, it was good.

Mister Wu, Delicious and Value-for-money Lunch Set - Jellyfish Salad

We were in luck, 2 of the sides that I was eyeing was on the house; Pi Tan Tofu and Jellyfish Salad. Formerly was silky tofu in rich pitan sauce, I love it. Latter was lightly chewy and crunchy with intense flavour from the marination.

Though there were numerous Mains, however, my friend and I were lured by the Crispy Hakka Pork Chop Dry La Mian. We ended up ordering the same. We love the toothsome chewy noodle.

The pork cutlet was tasty, tender and crispy. The only feedback I have was that it could be less oily.
