The Kitchen

Yakitori (Japanese: 焼き鳥) is a Japanese type of skewered chicken.

Toriyard’s meats are imported from Japan and grilled on the spot at the open-concept grill station. Their appetizing menu is specially designed by Tokyo native Chef Hasegawa Isao with 40 years of culinary experience. It feels like dining in a garden with fine Japanese food. Remarkable.

Their menu includes the specialty; Classic tori (Chicken) skewers, grilled beef, pork, seafood and vegetables.

Appetizers – deep fried chicken ball with perilla leaf and Onsen Tamago Cocktail. You might want to start your meals with these signature dishes.

New Yakitori

Okura (V) – Lady Finger (S$2.50)

Lady Fingers on skewers! Sea-salt flavored greens with a crunchy texture! Certainly an eye-opener for us.

We are impressed it could be cooked this way! Fresh Lady Fingers are used to attain the unique texture and taste. We are glad they did it.

New Mains

Buta Karamiso Zousui – Spicy Pork Belly Porridge (S$ 13)

Next, for Mains, The Spicy Pork Belly Porridge is in our top list and value for money as well. Pork Belly are thinly sliced to perfection and coupled with the fine Japanese Rice immersed in rich spiced broth. It is not too spicy in our opinion. Hence, definitely suitable for those with low tolerance to spicy food. A sprinkle of seaweed shreds add a tad of saltiness to the soup therefore enhances the aroma. Perhaps, cracking an egg to this soupy dish will be marvelous!
