The Blue Lotus Restaurants were opened and operated by former Tung Lok chief operating officer Ricky Ng and the Emmanuel Stroobant Group. The food tasting was hosted in Blue Lotus Chinese Grill House – one of Blue Lotus restaurants located in Tanjong Pagar Centre.
The interior of the city centre restaurant is contemporary and oriental. The 60-seater restaurant includes a permanent chef’s table, 14-seater private room with karaoke and a 36-seater alfresco area.
Blue Lotus Restaurants
The group of Blue Lotus Restaurants consists of Blue Lotus Chinese Eating House at Sentosa was the first established restaurant for the group. With the success of the first restaurant, Blue Lotus Chinese Grill House at Tanjong Pagar was up next. We have found memories of the food there. The Blue Lotus Restaurants latest edition is Blue Lotus Kitchen + Bar which was equally outstanding.

Many restaurants here have come up with their own version of chilli crab. Blue Lotus Signature Chilli Pomelo Crab is one of the signature dishes which is available in Blue Lotus Chinese Eating House at Sentosa Cove’s Quayside Isle. The sauce is a concoction of chopped herbs and spices such as lemongrass and curry leaves with just enough chilli for a spicy kick.
Another dish severed in Blue Lotus Chinese Eating House is Lemongrass Prawn Sticks with Citrus Spicy Dressing. It is inspired by Thai Sugarcane Prawn but it is not as oily as the Thai version, the prawn paste has a chewy texture and strong flavour of lemongrass. It is such a great appetizer!
The 3rd dish came from Blue Lotus Chinese Eating House is Crispy Fried Giant Prawn Wontons with Sweet & Sour Sauce. The size of the prawn wontons is amazing. It is extremely crispy and the giant prawns are fatty and chunky with full of flavours. It also had a sweet and sour sauce drizzle to it – make this dish incredibly addictive.

The next Blue Lotus Restaurants, Blue Lotus Chinese Grill House located at Tanjong Pagar presented three dishes.
The first one is Crab Ball Mini Burgers with Signature Chilli Pomelo Sauce. The Chilli Pomelo Sauce is the star here, the crab balls are full of flavour, best paired with the fried Mao Tou.
Hickory Smoked Honey-Glazed Kurobuta Pork Ribs – as a typical meat lover, I fell in love with this remarkable dish so quickly. The ribs were unbelievably tender. Honey is classic when it comes to barbecue. This ingredient caramelises beautifully and turns the meat golden and crispy on the outside. This is the most mouthwatering ribs I have ever tasted.
The 3rd dish was Barramundi Fish Paste Noodles in Hot & Sour Clear Consomme – this dish requires a lot of time and work, the fish paste is made from scratch and the noodles are made out of a syringe to ensure the consistent thickness of the noodles. The Consomme is clear with robust sour and spicy flavour.

The third Blue Lotus Restaurants of the group brought us with their two signature dishes. First is the Seafood Marinara Pita Pizza with prawns, squids, garlic, cherry tomatoes, it was truly delicious.
Tiger Prawns Red Risotto – Risotto has been part of the Italian culinary tradition since the Middle Ages. Today, it is a popular dish around the world and, along with pizza, one of my favourite Italian dishes. The Tiger Prawns Red Risotto from Blue Lotus is creamy and maintains the internal nuttiness of the rice grains, the tiger prawns enhanced the flavour and lifted the dish to a higher level. Overall, it is a good risotto according to Italian standard.
NAHMJ Verdict
