Who doesn’t love buffet? Either for the quantity or variety. I belong to the latter who loves the assorted spread. We recently have a wonderful Penang Buffet Dinner at Princess Terrace @ Copthorne Kings Hotel. Coincindently, within the same week, we visited Tien Court at level 2 of Copthorne Kings as well as they are holding a 53% discount promotion for Dim Sum. The last Asian buffet that we had before this was at The Straits Cafe @ Rendezvous Hotel
This is my first visit to Princess Terrace @ Copthorne Kings Hotel. Before the visit, I heard lots of positive reviews about them. Especially on the signature dishes.
The entire restaurant has the 80s vibes. The good news is that the furniture looks well-maintained with no sign of wear and tear.
Penang Buffet Dinner At Princess Terrace
As this is a Penang Buffet, the spread focused on Penang dishes and offered only Asian food which is steered mainly to the local dishes. No international option is offered on the buffet table at the Penang Buffet Dinner at Princess Terrace.
Signature Dishes
When at the Penang Buffet Dinner at Princess Terrace, first and foremost, go for the Penang Fried Kway Teow. A pity, they aren’t having this dish as live station. Hence, if this dish sat at the buffet table for too long and turned cold, it will not be as tasty.
The next 3 dishes are prepared at the Live station, First is the Penang Hokkien Prawn Mee with robust prawn stock.
Next is the Penang Laksa, we could smell and taste the fish flavour however, most of the diners for the night find it too weak. We think that this flavour is created to cater to the masses.
Followed by the Kueh Pie Tee. Popiah is also available though we gave it a miss.
Coming to desserts, medley of Nonya Kueh are part of the spread at the Penang Buffet at Princess Terrace too.
Interestingly, they offered silky Tau Hua too.
More Spread
In addition to the Signature dishes, which are certainly the must eat. But since it is a buffet dinner, we are expecting more food. Let’s beginning to examine the spread at the Penang Buffet Dinner at Princess Terrace.
Soups
2 Soups were offered as part of the buffet Spread. First is the peppery Pig Stomach Soup, the other is the appetitising Preserved Vegetable Duck Soup.
Rojak commonly found in many Asian Buffet is also available at this Penang Buffet Dinner.
Authentically Beancurd with Stuffing was also at the table. We enjoyed the rendition created by Princess Terrace.
At all buffet, Seafood on Ice is always part of the mix with Prawn, Mussel and Crayfish.
To add on, Curry Chicken is also offered.
Yet another item that diners would love is the BBQ Stingray with chilli .
Handful of hot dishes were part of the buffet, such as Meatballs.
Various Stirred fried vegetables and seafood dishes were offered too.
Something rarely seen on the buffet table is the Fried Porridge.
More Desserts
Beside the Nonya Kueh, expect more variety of desserts at the Penang Buffet Dinner at Princess Terrace.
Such as the Bobo Chacha and Ice Kacang.
More crowd favourite, the crispy Peanut Pancake.
Lastly, 3 fruits, Watermelon, Honeydew and Pineapple.
NAHMJ Verdict
With such a delicious spread at Penang Buffet Dinner at Princess Terrace, whenever I am craving for Penang Food, but I don’t want to travel all to satisfy my craving, this has to be the place to turn to.
