K For Kakuida’s And For Kurozu Is At Icon Village With Delicious And Yet Healthy Donut & Japanese Black Vinegar Drinks – Tanjong Pagar, Singapore

Unfamiliar name and terms like Kakuida’s and Kurozu will set many puzzle and curious. I am one of them who wonder what they are upon hearing these K words. Kakuida’s is the brand and the name of this outlet who set foot as a kiosk at Icon Village (facing Carlton Hotel).

2 ambitious young entrepreneurs established their first F&B venture offering Drinks and Donuts made with Kurozu.

What exactly is Kurozu? In short, it is Japanese Black Vinegar brewed by fermenting brown rice using a traditional recipe since the Edo period. These vinegar then aged over a range of a year, up to 10 years. At Kakuida’s, they use only Kurozu that are aged for 3 years.

At Kakuida’s, there are 2 main categories of products. First and foremost is the pillowy donut in 4 flavours with option of chocolate chips; Original, Chocolate, Matcha and Sweet Potato (from $1.90 to $2.50). My favourite is the Original with chocolate chips ($2.20).

Medley of Tea, Milk Tea, Organic Fruits Kurozu and Ice Blended and Smoothies with Kurozu are also available. Some of the highly recommended drink I enjoy are Homemade Kurozu Ice Lemon Tea ($3.90), and Passionfruit Match Ice Blended ($6.50). And I love the refreshing Sparkling Apple Organic Kurozu ($5.90) as well.

As for the Hot Honey Ginger Kurozu with Orange Peel ($3.90), it would be perfect if ginger is lacking.

Lastly, Kakuida’s serve Signature Soft-serve with selection of original ($3.90) or with toppings ($4.50) with option of Genmaicha or Kuromitsu. I love it with Genmaicha.

NAHMJ Verdict

I was surprised that Kurozu was added to the various Kakuida’s products and it tasty delicious and healthy too.
