Browns Brasserie & Bar In Covent Garden, A Restaurant To Experience Classic English Fare – London, United Kingdom

This is a long overdue post which I somehow I just forgotten about it or more accurately, I kept shelving it for other posts. Browns Brasserie & Bar In Covent Garden is one of the restaurant my cousin took me to when I was in London in one of the weekend in January. Knowing that I put up in Pullman London St Pancras, we ended up dining around Covent Garden. The other restaurant we dined was Henrietta Restaurant which is also within the vicinity.

Established in 1973, it has been around for more than 4 decades. Browns Brasserie & Bar existed throughout the UK with numerous outlets in London.

I was there for lunch on a snowing Sunday afternoon. Before entering the restaurant, I took a photo of the snowing situation just outside the restaurant.

On Sundays, beside the regular lunch menu, Sunday Roast is also available.

Browns Restaurant In Covent Garden, A Restaurant To Experience Classic English Fare - Sirloin Of Beef (£16.50)
Sirloin Of Beef (£16.50)

First, it got to be an item from the Sunday Roast Menu. We ordered the Sirloin Of Beef (£16.50) with the classic English Yorkshire Pudding. Accompanied with steamed vegetables. Brown sauce covered the surface of the beef. Enormous portion that it is good for two.

Next is the an item from the regular Ala Carte Menu. We opted for the Browns Fish Pie (£15.25). This is a traditional British fare. A portion so huge and rich till it could feed 4, I seriously think so. Made of though fish but cheese is present hence it was robust and could be too cloying for light palate.

Browns Restaurant In Covent Garden, A Restaurant To Experience Classic English Fare - Thick cut fries with Parmesan & Truffle oil (£4.50)
Thick cut fries with Parmesan & Truffle oil (£4.50)

We added the Roasted Portobello Mushroom (£3.50) and Thick cut fries with Parmesan & Truffle oil (£4.50) as sides. Both were great choices.

Browns Restaurant In Covent Garden, A Restaurant To Experience Classic English Fare - Sticky Toffee Pudding (£6.50)

Ending the meal with the Sticky Toffee Pudding (£6.50). I found it overly saccharine even though I like the texture of the pudding.
