Amara Singapore is located in the heart of Tanjong Pagar which is very accessible via both MRT and bus.

Amara Singapore Welcomes The Year Of Dog - Chilled Angel Hair Pasta with Truffle Oil and Kombu

We have the opportunity to savour some of the highlights. First to make its appearance was the Chilled Angel Hair Pasta with Truffle Oil and Kombu. We are sure most would enjoyed this Truffle dish though we find the pasta a little too soft.

Amara Singapore Welcomes The Year Of Dog - Homemade Mandarin Orange Salmon

Amara Singapore Welcomes The Year Of Dog - Homemade Beetroot Salmon

Next coming up are 2 salmon dishes; Homemade Mandarin Orange Salmon and Homemade Beetroot Salmon. Personally, I didn’t find them wow though palatable.

Followed by the Drunken Chicken which is in its natural flavour.

Amara Singapore Welcomes The Year Of Dog - Cucumber with Sesame Dressing

The last starter was the refreshing crunchy Cucumber with Sesame Dressing.

Coming up next are the Mains. Starting with the Roasted Chicken with Spicy Sichuan Sauce. A common dish with a twist, Spicy Sichuan sauce. However, we could hardly savour the Sichuan element. Perhaps, we should pick those pieces that got soaked in the sauce.

Amara Singapore Welcomes The Year Of Dog - Smoked Duck with Camphor and Tea Leaves

Something unique is the Smoked Duck with Camphor and Tea Leaves. Smokiness infused flavour to the duck meat.

Amara Singapore Welcomes The Year Of Dog - Black Pepper Crayfish

Black Pepper Crayfish was a crowd favourite and at the same time a safe choice at the table.

Amara Singapore Welcomes The Year Of Dog - Beef Bourguignon

Instead of offering only pure Chinese dishes, Beef Bourguignon added to the assortment, giving an alternative at the spread.

Amara Singapore Welcomes The Year Of Dog - Vegetarian Treasure Pot (Pen Cai)

Most of all, the most underwhelming dish is the Vegetarian Treasure Pot (Pen Cai). Why vegetarian Pen Cai? I would certainly prefer it to be a pot of seafood goodness instead. On the flip side, it certainly make a good option for the Vegetarian though.

Desserts

An array of Chempedek Desserts will be available at the dessert station.

Amara Singapore Welcomes The Year Of Dog - Chempedak Butter Cake

Amara Singapore Welcomes The Year Of Dog - Chempedak Swiss Roll

Expect to find the mediocre Chempedak Butter Cake and Swiss Roll

Amara Singapore Welcomes The Year Of Dog - Chempedak Agar Agar

Amara Singapore Welcomes The Year Of Dog - Chempedak Pudding

Chempedak Agar Agar and Pudding were pretty refreshing and lightly sweet.

Amara Singapore Welcomes The Year Of Dog - Chempedak Creme Brulee

Lastly, diner choice is the Chempedak Creme Brulee which found favour among most diners. The creaminess of the Chempedak together with its unique sweetness augmented the creme Brulee.

Amara Singapore Welcomes The Year Of Dog - Chempedak Cake

Aside the Creme Brulee, I enjoyed the Chempedak Cake too.

Amara Singapore Welcomes The Year Of Dog - Pomelo Tang Yuen

Lastly for Chinese New Year, surely we want some Chinese dessert too. Amara Singapore offers the Pomelo Tang Yuen dominated by mint scent.

NAHMJ Verdict

Like most meals, Amara Singapore Welcomes The Year Of Dog With All-Time CNY Favourites has its hits and misses too. Overall, we rate them decent.
