Hideout By District 20, true to its name, most won’t notice this secret place unless someone let the cat out of the bag. This secluded air-conditioning eatery shared the same address as District 20, the food court. We previously visited Burgerlicious who is at this food court. Entrance to Hideout is by the side facing Tat Ann Building.
This special space is primarily a bar offering a wide range of Craft Beer and of course a food menu too. They screen football matches whenever it is available. So prepared for the cheers and jeers.
We find a resemblance to the Platform 1094, commonly known as the Harry Potter Cafe. Contributed by the chairs.
At Hideout, medley of food items, starting from Cze Char. First it the Har Cheong Kar, crispy skin with succulent well-marinated tasty chicken meat.
The Sambal Kang Kong is another excellent dish that we love. They weren’t stingy with the most important ingredient, Sambal.
Fried Rice was flavourful though lacking of wok hei. Otherwise it is perfect.
Alternatively, Japanese cusine is also an option. Saba Fish Bento Set is a popular item.
Lastly, the highlight which is best with beer is the Pork Knuckle served with potato wedges.
Another dish that pair equally well with beer is the Sausage Platter with a total of 5 different Sausages; each with different flavour and texture.
A pity, the dessert offered wasn’t too alluring. Simple cakes such as Rainbow Cake is available. We tried a total of 3 and we love the Chocolate Mousse Cake best since it hit all the right notes. While the Rainbow Cake was too dry for us.
If you are a Match lover, you might be glad to know there is also Matcha Cake.
NAHMJ Verdict
Hideout By District 20 is the place for beer with friends and football matches over some food. Especially so if you are staying in the area.
