RAS Epicurean Star Award 2017, the annual prestigious F&B in Singapore awarded 21 awards, including new categories Best Mediterranean Restaurant, and Best Seafood Restaurant as well as stalwarts like Best New F&B Establishment (Casual / Casual Fine) and Best Buffet.
Winners were judged based on the following criteria: restaurant concept, menu and service quality; with categories such as quality and taste, presentation, staff product knowledge, cleanliness and service attitude taken into account – via a month long mystery dining process that began in October 2017 by a panel of 20 culinary personalities such as The New Paper food columnist Yeoh Wee Teck, food blogger Maureen Ow (Miss Tam Chiak), Executive Chef Eric Neo of InterContinental Hotel Group and celebrity chef Eric Teo. Below are 3 restaurants that were awarded at RAS Epicurean Star Award 2017.

A big winner at RAS Epicurean Star Award 2017 as they bagged home 2 awards. First is the Best Western Restaurant (Casual Dining) and Best of The Best (Casual Dining). The latter award was selected by the F&B industrial experts. NAHMJ visited Chef’s Table By Chef Stephan previously and rated them favourably though we find desserts served at the restaurant as their weakest link.
20% off food bill for all guests from 24 November until 9 December 2017. Limited to early bird seating: bookings from 6.00-6.30pm.
Here are some of the highlights that will be available during the promotion. First, Salmon Trout with Pickled Pumpkin, Pumpkin Seed Oil, Nostustium Leaves. Fresh sashimi slice with Pickled to augment the flavour.
Next is an amazing dish, not only it is attractive to the eyes but also appealing to the palate. From the look, it appears like a garden of herb. Beneath the layer of ‘soil’ made of Potato Creme with Puffed Quinoa, Kale Powder and Mustard Friees hide the Duck Ragout and Egg Yolk Poached in Duck Fat. Mixed them all up to enjoy the Duck Ragout, Egg Yolk Poached in Duck Fat, Potato Creme, Puffed Quinoa, Kale Powder and Mustard Friees.
Finally, for dessert, there is the Green Tea Cake, Strawberry Compote, Chocolate Ice Cream, Cocoa Nip Chip. Likewise, this round, dessert wasn’t as spectacular as the savoury dishes. Mild green tea flavour in the dense cake masked by either the strawberry or Chocolate.
At Chef’s Table by Chef Stephan menu are designed based on the availablity of seasonal ingredients hence you may not get to savour these itmes highlighted in the post.

We tried Sufood and thought they were good, however the common feedback from our Vegetarian friends were ‘Sufood is good, Elemen is better’. In short, our verdict is little wonder they won the Best Asian Restaurant (Casual Dining) at the RAS Epicurean Star Award 2017.
Celebrating the win, Elemen offers 20% off pizzas. [Not valid in conjunction with other promotions, discounts or offers. Not valid for eleMember points.]
2 Pizzas are on the menu, Milano Pizza ($15.80) and Wild Mushroom and White Truffle Pizza ($15.80). Latter was what we tried. Thick layers of cheese on thin layer of crust with abundant Mushroom and sparingly Truffle.
Other dishes though discount isn’t applicable, equally recommended were the sweetish Sizzling Quinoa Brown Rice ($15.80) and tasty Spicy Shiitake with Purple Rice Roll ($15.80)

Celebrating the win with Chef’s Celebration Omakase at $50++ for lunch and $98++ for dinner. Diners might savour the Chirashi Don with fresh sashimi dice lightly marinated on sushi rice.
Shabu Shabu with bold and intense sweet tasting soup.
