Dim Sum Haus At 57 Jalan Besar, Another Option Other Than Swee Choon Tim Sum – Jalan Besar, Singapore

When we think of Dim Sum along Jalan Besar, we think of Swee Choon Tim Sum. The good news is that in addition to this famous iconic restaurant, we now welcome Dim Sum Haus which is certainly equally good if not better. Getting to Dim Sum Haus is extremely convenient as the exits of Jalan Besar MRT station of the Downtown line are adjacent and opposite of the restaurant.

However, don’t be confused with another Dim Sum restaurant, Dim Sum Place located North Bridge Road.

I am sure most will never miss out o Har Gao and Siew Mai. At Dim Sum Haus, we ordered the Steamed Shrimp Dumpling ($4.20) and instead of the usual Siew Mai, we tried the Steamed Charcoal Chicken and Shrimp Dumpling ($4) instead. This one used Chicken meat and has a chewy dumpling skin. Personally, I am not a a fan of Chicken Dim Sum.

If you need more carbohydrates that are filling, Steamed Rice Roll with Shrimp ($4.20) and tasty Hong Kong Boat Congee ($6.80) with lots of ingredients, are great option. We love the idea of having a crispy prawn wrapped within the rice roll which was even better than having the dough fritter. Perfect if the rice roll could be a little chewy while Congee could be smoother.
