We visited Nesuto Patisserie when they first started at Tras Street in the second quarter of 2017, May. After 5 months, they are ready to introduce another new concept, through a collaboration with Chef Daniel, offering Cheese Sandwiches. This Nesuto x 52 Sandwich Shack partnership is extremely welcoming as they serve mouthwatering comfort sandwiches.
This brand new concept will be available from October, at the current Raffles City kiosk that offers Tamagoyaki. For those who love this item may have to miss it for the time being, till they find another space for them. However, the good news is that you get to enjoy Cheese Sandwiches. Some of the items offered by 52 Sandwich Shack will be available at Nesuto too.
Nesuto x 52 Sandwich Shack
Aside the sandwiches, there are a handful of green. First was the Baby Spinach Salad with a familiar taste note. Most would identify it with the chilli Sauce of Hainanese Chicken Rice but without the spiciness. When it was served, my attention was drawn to the molten egg. Certainly an attractive point. This salad is either at the side of the sandwich order, alternative, one could order it as a Salad meal.
Roma tomato with Wafu Dressing made up the Tomato Ceviche dish. Topped it off with Sesame Seed and Corriander augmented the flavour.
Salmon Avocado Sandwich
This sandwich was tailor-made for salmon and avocado fan like myself. If you love this sandwich, it is only available at Nesuto.
A thin spread of cream cheese was on the sourdough with Home Cured Salmon and Avocado sat on it. Simple but certainly delicious as these combination never goes wrong.
Cheese Sandwich
Nesuto x 52 Sandwich Shack introduces a total of 3 cheese sandwiches. First is the Trio Cheese Sandwich. This is the basic sandwich for the next 2 variation on 52 Sandwich Shack menu.
Since it was named trio, it consists of 3 cheese; Cheddar, Fontina and Mozzerella. The bread is Brioche, my favourite bread hence I am sure some bias factor will affect my review. The cheese was not pungent therefore it will appeal even to the group who doesn’t enjoy cheese. However, I believe with the same point, those who love strong cheese flavour will comment that it was weak.
Some may wonder why it was named 52 Sandwich Shack. That was because Chef Daniel experimented with 52 permutation of cheese blend. We thought this is a great example of dedication and passion. Well done Chef!
We put the cheese stretch to the test. It was amazing. The pull is limited by the length of the arm. Lol!!
From the Trio Cheese came the next 2 sandwiches. First and foremost is the Yakiniku Pulled Pork Sandwich. Generous amount of pulled Pork Collar with savoury home-made Yakiniku Sauce that is lightly sweet buried under the abundant cheese.
Lastly is the Gyu & Onsen Egg Sandwich. We first tried Kraftwich Sandwich with Dip; now have Sandwich with Onsen Egg as Dip. Sandwiches are getting innovated too. The beef and cheese composition are super awesome. Ensure that you dip the sandwich into the egg so that you will get the best taste.
NAHMJ Verdict
We love the Nesuo x 52 Sandwich Shack range of sandwiches. Not only it is filling but also a comfort food.
