Marriott Cafe is one of the handful restaurant in Marriott Singapore Tang Plaza. Others include the outstanding Marriott Pool Grill which we love and Wan Hao, the Chinese Restaurant which is equally impressive. Marriott Cafe is the buffet table at the hotel. Currently offering an Exotic Flavours of Thailand Buffet from now till 15 October 2017.
Located at the first floor, right beside Crossroad Cafe, an al fresco dinning restaurant. I am sure most would feel that fortunately, this restaurant is with air-condition.
Exotic Flavours of Thailand
Expect a spread of Thai Food with spread such as Tom Yum Goong, Papaya Salad, Sweet Banana with Coconut Milk and Thai Style Coconut Jelly. We savoured and like some of the highlights at the Exotic Flavours of Thailand spread.
First is the Spicy Pomelo Salad with Prawn. Though it was named spicy, most could handle the mild spiciness level, even the lowest tolerance diners will not find it a challenge. Unless you are totally not in for spiciness. The bitterness from the pomelo added distinct scent to the dish.
Baked Minced Seafood with Spicy Coconut Custard is similar to our local Otah. The difference is in the coconut milk added to the paste hence providing an additional fragrance that blend well with the seafood and spice.
Next up is the familiar Green Curry with Chicken. You might find the version differed slightly from the one we are accustomed to. The viscosity and flavour of the gravy was thin and light, hence it is akin to a bowl of soup.
Grilled Marinated Chicken & Lemongrass with Spicy Sauce was the second favourite dish among the diners of the night. Well marinated and grilled to perfection. Remember to dip it with the spicy sauce to complete the entire experience.
The star item at the Exotic Flavours of Thailand buffet is the Grilled Marinated Pork Neck with Spicy Sauce. Executed flawlessly from marination to the grill resulting in this succulent and flavoursome meat. I could easily have the entire supply at the buffet table.
Instead of serving stir-fried pork or chicken with basil, Chef chose it with mixed seafood. Piquant basil flavour emitted in each piece of ingredient in the Stir-fried Mixed Seafood with Hot Basil Leaves.
Mango Sticky Rice and Pumpkin Pudding are 2 of the Thai desserts offered. Personal preference is the former. Even Lemongrass drink is available for self-service.
Aside the specially curated dishes for the Exotic Flavours Of Thailand spread, diners still get to enjoy other international selections such as an array of Fresh Seafood which include prawns, crayfish, crab leg and even oysters. Indian dishes are also available as well.
For the sweet tooths, treat yourself to the medley of cakes, ice cream and many other desserts which different selections daily.
