Hibiki Japanese Restaurant Revisit And We Fall In Love With Them More, Bukit Timah Road - Hibiki's Miso Sukiyaki ($69.80)

Hibiki Japanese Restaurant Revisit And We Fall In Love With Them More, Bukit Timah Road – Sixth Avenue, Singapore

First half of the year, we visited a Japanese Restaurant specialises in Yakitori along Bukit Timah for dinners and there was lot more of food which we were tempted but did not have the stomach space. As such, our Hibiki Japanese Restaurant Revisit is with the intend to try out their other famous Sukiya and many more food. In this revisit, we were extremely please as we found a dish that mesmerized all our hearts. All four diners of the night agree that it was the best dish and we will surely return for it.

We shall not dwell on the description of the ambience, if interested, click here to read more on our first visit. Instead, we will zoom in to the food.

Hibiki Japanese Restaurant Revisit

This round our focus was on the items that tempted our sights though at this Hibiki Japanese Restaurant Revisit we still went for the Yakitori.

New Dishes

2 new items were introduced. First was the Eihire. By the side was some mayonnaise to dip the snack. We prefer eating it solely on its own. These snacks are extremely addictive.

Hibiki Japanese Restaurant Revisit And We Fall In Love With Them More, Bukit Timah Road - Chicken Egg Ham serve with Ponzu Sauce

Chicken Egg Ham serve with Ponzu Sauce reminds me of Cordon Bleu. Instead of having cheese, hard-boiled egg was used. After dipping it with Ponzu Sauce, I still find it too bland and plain, likewise for the light palatte too.

Hibiki Japanese Restaurant Revisit And We Fall In Love With Them More, Bukit Timah Road - Lobster Salad

Our favourite dish among the 3 new dishes was the Lobster Salad. Chucky piece of lobster meat amidst the mixture.

Deep Fried & Grilled

Fall head over heels with the Satsuma Imo Age ($13.80), Deep Fried Sweet Potato Fries the last round and so we decided to order a plate to share as a starter.

Hibiki Japanese Restaurant Revisit And We Fall In Love With Them More, Bukit Timah Road - Mochi Cheese Age ($10.80)

Next we had the Mochi Cheese Age ($10.80). We heard lots of wonderful review about this item hence we could resist it. Mozarella Cheese encased in soft chewy mochi skin, it was a tasty snack for diners who love cheese.

Hibiki Japanese Restaurant Revisit And We Fall In Love With Them More, Bukit Timah Road - Yanagawa Fu Nabe ($14.80)

Yanagawa Fu Nabe ($14.80) was highly recommended. When served, a woody familiar scent, similar to the Chinese herb, Angelica root aroma, emitted from the dish. When eaten, a pity that woody smell was absent. Overall was a tasty pork dish.

Subsequent dish captived us, Miso Zuke Saute Steak ($18.80). It is beyond strongly recommend; it is a must order. And remember to order a bowl of rice to enjoy this dish. I would gladly exchange for all other dishes for only this dish. We were glad that we Hibiki Japanese Restaurant Revisit and tried this dish.

Rice

Rice and noodles were also available at the Hibiki menu. Each Donburi comes with a miso soup and some Japanese pickle.

Hibiki Japanese Restaurant Revisit And We Fall In Love With Them More, Bukit Timah Road - Hibiki's Yakitori Don ($18.80)

Since Yakitori should not be missed. We got Hibiki’s Yakitori Don ($18.80). The Yakitori never failed. The Japanese rice though tasty however I prefer to have more sauce on the rice.

Sukiyaki

We tried the Shabu Shabu at our first visit. So this round, our purpose of our Hibiki Japanese Restaurant Revisit was for the Hibiki’s Miso Sukiyaki ($69.80).

Hibiki Japanese Restaurant Revisit And We Fall In Love With Them More, Bukit Timah Road - Saitama Mixed Vegetable Platter

Each set of the Sukiyaki is meant for 2 but we think having 4 person to share is better so that diners could order other items as well. In each set, there are about 150g of Pork Belly, 150g Pork Collar, Saitama Mixed Vegetable Platter and Udon.

Hibiki Japanese Restaurant Revisit And We Fall In Love With Them More, Bukit Timah Road - Udon

Service crew is present to help diners to cook the food. If you prefer doing it yourself, first place the hard vegetables at the base of the pot. After a few minutes, add in the soft vegetables. At about 80% cooked, add the pork. Once the pork are cooked, dish them on the plate and now ready to cook the udon. Finally serve it.

Hibiki Japanese Restaurant Revisit And We Fall In Love With Them More, Bukit Timah Road - Dipping pork into Egg

For best texture and flavour, dip the cooked pork into beaten raw egg once it was cooked. And enjoy.

Alcohol

At Hibiki, they serve a range of interesting alcohol. This round we tried the Sparkling Sake. With only 5% alcohol content, it was an easy drink for the elementary drinker like myself.

Hibiki Japanese Restaurant Revisit And We Fall In Love With Them More, Bukit Timah Road - Love in a mist Shoju

For advance drinker, go for the Love in a mist Shoju on rock or neat.

NAHMJ Verdict

Aside the yakitori and Shabu Shabu, the Hibiki’s Miso Subiyaki and the Miso Zuke Saute Steak far exceeded our expectation. We strongly recommend returning diners to try these if you have yet to try.
