One of the longest tentant at One Shenton is The Bank Bar + Bistro. We remember them from day one. Their menu has been revamping and recently I had the opportunity to try out The Bank Bar + Bistro New Menu.
The setting is very much like any bar with lots of high tables and chairs.
The Bank Bar + Bistro New Menu
Beginning the meal with the Spicy Prawn Salad ($18). We were thrilled to see generous amount of prawns topped on the salad. The size was relatively large too. Be warned, when the spiciness in this addictive and appetising salad built up, some may find it difficult to handle. Hence we advise to take it easy.
Diner who loves soup and seafood should opt for Seared Seabass ($25). The Seared Seabass sat on abundant big clams and some good amount of Clam Chowder. As the Chowder was pretty creamy, one may develop cloying feel after the meal.
Butter Chicken ($22) is currently the most popular dish at The Bank Bar + Bistro. This rendition is an improvised dish. It has a light sourish hint. Personally, I prefer the traditional version though it is acceptable.
Among all the dishes we tried Oriental Seabass Pasta ($20) recieved all thumbs up. The fermented bean paste elevated the flavour of the fish and paired perfectly with the XO Sauce Pasta. I love this dish.
BBQ Pulled Pork Burger ($16.50) as usual has a sweet hint. So some love it while some don’t. I thought it was a brilliant idea to add the pineapple to give a fruity hint. However I thought have fresh one with more sourish flavour might work better.
Rounding the meal with a dessert is a must. First was the Homemade Fruity Plum Yogurt Popsicle ($4.50).
We love Chocolate Lava ($11) more. We thought this is a better option for chocolate fan.
In conjunction with The Bank Bar + Bistro New Menu, a one-for-one promotion for Pasta, Salad, Mains and Sandwich on every Saturday to Monday, dinner only. The end date is whenever the restaurant feel like taking it down
The Bank Bar + Bistro menu offers huge portion dishes and with the one-for-one over the weekend, it is certainly worthwhile to dine especially in large group.
