Introducing the Pho Street New Menu 2017. With rising prices in this environment, we are glad that Pho Street kept their prices very affordable, with all dishes under $10. We are sure diners will welcome such a wallet-friendly menu.
What’s more, though most of Pho Street outlets are in the heartland, you will still find them in the Singapore favourite shopping belt, Orchard Road. We visited the conveniently located Centrepoint outlet.
Pho Street New Menu 2017
From our observation, the new dishes that were introduced to the Pho Street New Menu 2017 are mainly the Pork dishes and Spicy dishes to all section of the menu. Hence few are added to the Street Snacks, Mains and even drinks.
Street Snacks
First, we have the the well beloved Rice Crackers & Cucumber with Caramelised Pork & Dried Shrimp Dip ($6.90), a new dish. The sauce in the caramelised pork dip was extremely bold and intense. So if you are a light palate diner, you are in for a shock. So be mentally prepared before you embark on your first bite.
Most love the above street snack but I love the Rice Vermicelli Wrap with Crispy Roasted Pork Belly ($6.90) more. With enjoyed together with the pickle and assorted vegetables, it offered a crunchiness dimension too. And I love it even more when I loaded the wrap with lots of the sweet and sour sauce.
For corn lover, the Fragrant Butter Corn with Dried Shrimp ($3.50) is a great sharing dish.
Finally, our least favourite, the Rice Paper Salad ($5.90). The rice paper turned chewy fast upon exposure to air and it worsen when it stick to each other and turned a lump.
Mains
If you are the Pho fan who always thinking of having spiciness in the soup, here is the innovation from the Pho Street New Menu 2017, presenting the Spicy Pork Combination ($8.90).
Dry Rice Vermicelli with Grilled Pork Belly & Spring Roll ($8.90) was my favourite. I like sweetish and sourish food hence this found favour with me. In addition, the grilled pork belly was highly tasty and aroma.
If you still want anything close to Pho Street heart, diner could turn to their signature Pho Beef Combination ($9.90). It will satisfy your craving.
Desserts
Among the dessert, the crowd favourite is the Vietnamese Three Colour Dessert ($3.50). It tasted closed to our chendol, mainly due to the coconut cream.
Next was the Sweet Corn Dessert with Coconut Cream ($3.50). This is similar to the Chinese Sweet Corn Dessert too. In addition, I suppose, corn is an ingredient that most love hence it was much welcome.
The least appealing dessert was the Vietnamese Sticky Rice with Black Eyed Peas Dessert ($3.50). Since I am neither a sticky rice nor bean person, therefore I am no fan of such item.
Drinks
In this Pho Street New Menu 2017, 2 new drinks were introduced; Vietnamese Salty Lemonade ($3.50) and Home Brewed Red Date drink with Wolfberries ($3.50).
The former drink was strong in the salty plum taste while the latter was sweet with concentrated red date aroma.
NAHMJ Verdict
For the price, every dish under $10 in the Pho Street New Menu 2017, we believe, it will be a great hit with diners.
