Keong Saik Bakery Offering Artisan Cakes & Bread With A Local Twist At Keong Saik Road - Featured Mural Wall

Keong Saik Bakery Offering Artisan Cakes & Bread With A Local Twist At Keong Saik Road – Outram, Singapore

I am always enthralled seeing new bakery and patisserie especially when they are close to me. The same excitment happened when I chanced upon Keong Saik Bakery while they were undergoing renovation. In fact, within Keong Saik Road, there is an existing bakery, Bread & Hearth. And other French Patisserie, Mad About Sucre within the area.

Once you step foot into the bakery, I am sure you will notice the eye-catching Mural on your left shortly. This was the wall that caught my attention before everything else.

I counted a total of 7 cakes available at Keong Saik Bakery at the moment. Tried only 2 so far. First is The Lady In Pink ($6.50), a light Strawberry Cheesecake with a layer of Lychee Mousse cum lychee bits. Finally top off with a pink guava ganache. Dominated by lychee flavour with almost non-existent of other flavour. Personally, I think they still need to find the perfect ratio for this cake.

Keong Saik Bakery Offering Artisan Cakes & Bread With A Local Twist At Keong Saik Road - Golden Blossom ($5.50)

Golden Blossom ($5.50) has three layers of pillowy-soft sponge and I love them. A pity the Chrysanthemum flavour in the creme was far too faint to savour and was a little to sweet for me.

Keong Saik Bakery Offering Artisan Cakes & Bread With A Local Twist At Keong Saik Road - Green Snail ($2.20)

Keong Saik Bakery focused on bread. A few shelves worth of bread are offered here. If you like the Salted Egg Matcha at Asanoya, Keong Saik Bakery has their version known as Green Snail ($2.20).

The espresso offered at Keong Saik Bakery is with a local twist. They exchange the classic espresso bean for the local coffee bean. Instead of adding milk to the espresso shot, they added condensed milk and evaporated milk. The result is a cup of Kopi very smooth to the palate and it is extremely chocolaty and nutty. I almost mistaken it for Mocha. They named it the Kopi Susu ($2.80).

Alternatively, go for the strong but yet smooth to the palate Teh Su Su ($2.80). If neither tea nor cofffee is your preference, last 2 options are Milo and Water.
