D’Good Cafe @ Ngee Ann City has a London Subway theme. This is the second outlet after their first at Holland Village. When I first potted them at Basement of Ngee Ann City, the entire design reminds me of the Paddington Bear. Not sure why is this so perhaps it was due to the colour scheme; blue and white.
I have good experience with their cafe at Holland Village and I remember them fondly for their swing seats facing the road. They brought this signature look to the Ngee Ann City outlet too.
Instead of introducing food first, we first look at the drinks. They have an exhaustive list especially tea. The drink menu though slim was endless pages of items. After flipping a few pages, I couldn’t remember what I have browsed earlier. Nevertheless, it provided us a good reason for re-visiting.
For diners who love the dramatic effect of dry ice, here is a must order, the Coconut Infused Cold Brew ($9.50). Montana offers a similar item but without the smoky effect.
Next is also a unique drink, the Sea Salt Oolong Tea. It may sounds strange but it was absolutely a delight in my opinion. Strangely, the combination of salt, milk and Oolong tea was perfect.
D’Good Cafe @ Ngee Ann City serves one of the best Earl Grey Lavender Latte. It has a golden ratio of all the key ingredients. For the non-milk based iced tea, there are Pomegranate Kiwi Green Tea, Mixed Fruit Honey Black Tea and Damascus Rose Iced Tea, just to name a few.
2 of my favourite desserts at D’Good Cafe @ Ngee Ann City which I also tried previously at their Holland Village outlet were Classic Deutsch Skillet Pancakes ($8) and D’Good Sea Salt Cheesecake. They were still as amazing as I first tried.
Tried the Rose Lychee Jelly Cake first time. This cake has a good balance of rose and lychee flavour and what I like is the lychee jelly centre.
For something every English, turn to LING Cod Fish and Chips ($22) which is also very much a crowd pleaser. At D’Good Cafe @ Ngee Ann City, they are one of the rare cafe that serve the fish & chips with malt vinegar.
D’Lobster Roll ($22) is also another dish which I am sure most love it. I could never resist when I see it on the menu. In addition, I love the fries served at D’Good Cafe @ Ngee Ann City. Chunky with crispy exterior.
Other food include the All Day Breakfast and Pasta dishes.
NAHMJ Verdict
D’Good Cafe is one of the cafe not only serves delicious staple but also good service which I appreciate.
