(Closed) Ergon Singapore A Greek Cafe And Deli At Suntec City – Esplanade, Singapore

There is no lack of variety of food in Singapore but rarely we find Greek or to the larger extend Mediterranean cuisine. Hence, I am not as exposed to it thought I know of one, other than this recently opened Ergon Singapore at Suntec City, is Alati, which I have yet to try. For those who know where to find Gudatema Cafe, they are directly opposite.

Ergon is a brand with global presence. It’s goal is to promote Greek cuisine both back home and abroad. The name Ergon is a Greek word meaning work, vocation, but also the product of work.

Ergon Singapore A Greek Cafe And Deli At Suntec City - Ergon Singapore Counter

Looks of interior is modern and sleek with shelves of merchandise on one side and counter on the other. Tables were alternates with the round wooden and square marble-looking ones.

On the menu, there were an array of bread items like Toasts, Melts and Sandwiches. Others include eggs, pancakes, pies and Middle Eastern Desserts and Pastries and Cakes too.

Ergon Singapore A Greek Cafe And Deli At Suntec City - Haloumi Melt ($10.50)

Tried the Haloumi Melt ($10.50). The first time I tried the Haloumi cheese was at Fat Prince and I like it as I find this cheese a little like chicken meat. Although ingredients were simply cheese, tomato slices and basil pesto on the toasted pita bread, it was heavenly.

Ergon Singapore A Greek Cafe And Deli At Suntec City - Baklava ($8)

My first experience of Baklava was at Dubai and I have good re-collection of it. But somehow, the Baklava ($8) at Ergon didn’t re-kindle my first-love for them. It was overly sweet with too intense almond flavour. In addition, the filo pastry was far too chewy. I think it is better to serve them in bite-size pieces.

Ergon Singapore A Greek Cafe And Deli At Suntec City - Cappuccino ($5)

At Ergon Singapore, the coffee beans are sourced directly from the farmers and roasted at Athens Roastery then shipped to them always fresh. Its cuppa, in particular, Cappuccino ($5 single / $6 double) is of low acidity, full body with complex flavour note consisting of dark chocolate, and even berries and cinnamon.

Other interesting coffee selection are the Greek Coffee ($4.50 single / $5 Double) and Freddo Cappuccino ($6.50)

NAHMJ Verdict

I suppose some may not be used to the food offered by Ergon Singapore, however to me it provide a good alternative.
