Say What X Tip Top

Salted Egg Snacks craze was on last year. Lots of fans were chasing after them last year. Me too did the same. I tried all the different brands of Salted Egg Snacks and published a post about them last year, June. After almost a year, Say What Salted Egg Potato Chips is now in the market. I wonder if it is too late.

Anyway, as long as it is Salted Egg, it caught my attention. Each bag (125g) is priced at $7. In order to differentiate themselves from the rest, Say What brand offers the thick-cut version. Hence due to the thickness, it was ultra crispy to the extend of hard. I didn’t fancy the texture. The saving grace was the thick coating of salted egg, clinging tightly to the surface of the chips and this is fantastic. However, I find it a little too sweet.

Salted Egg Chicken Curry Puff

What excite me more is the Salted Egg Chicken Curry Puff ($1.70) since this is the first. Or rather I wasn’t aware of other. I was glad that their rendition was the savoury kind, with intense salted egg flavour. Personally, I find it quite spicy. The pastry puff in general was acceptable, except for the edge which was quite thick. Overall, I love it but I couldn’t have more than one puff each time.

Salted Egg Dip

Besides the Salted Egg Chicken Puff and Artisanal Thick-cut Salted Egg Potato Chips, Tip Top has also introduced a handful of new Seafood Snack items.

I love Tip Top recipe of the Salted Egg Dip. It doesn’t have the usual ultra sweetness. In fact, it is very much lacking which I like. Hence it was more savoury. But I find it a little too watery as such it is difficult to cling tight on the snack. But for the price, after all, the quality is still very acceptable.

NAHMJ Verdict

Say What X Tip Top offering both Salted Egg Potato Chips and Salted Egg Curry Puff to satisfy all Salted Egg Fan craving for more if they do. Personally, I would certainly go for the latter.
