Coastes By Siloso Beach, Introducing New Dishes – Sentosa, Singapore

Along the Siloso Beach, we previously featured Sand Bar, and now we are looking at Coastes as they have introduced new comfort food. Both were by the same folk.

Since the restaurant is by the beach side as such they have very interesting ambience, dinning on the beach or at the deck. Oh ya, and all pet owners out there, this is a pet friendly restaurant.

Should you be dinning in a group of 3 or 4, the Seafood Platter ($52) is a good for sharing and kick-off the meal. Since on the plate was 4 types of seafood, crayfish, prawns, calamari, crab salad and fish stew with baguette. Surprisingly, all the food on the platter was fabulous. I love all of them.

2 new sandwiches on Ciabatta bread were introduced. First is the Corned Beef Ciabatta ($16) which I didn’t manage to try. Hence, I have no clue of how it tasted.

Coastes By Siloso Beach, Introducing New Dishes - Baked Portobello and Arugula Ciabatta ($16)

Next is the Baked Portobello and Arugula Ciabatta ($16). Luckily, I tried this, though I am more keen after the former as this is a pure vegetarian sandwich. The sandwich tasted too healthy for me. Every ingredient seems in its natural flavour, it is without much seasoning and no sauce too. A good choice for the health conscious diner.

Coastes By Siloso Beach, Introducing New Dishes - Bourbon-Glazed Pork Ribs ($20 half slab | $30 full slab)

Fork-tender Bourbon-Glazed Pork Ribs ($20 half slab | $30 full slab) melted in the mouth is a great choice for the meat lover fan. The meat was well marinated. And I like the idea of pairing it with potato wedges instead of the commonly found fries.

Moving on to 2 pasta dishes, beginning with the Spicy Penne Arrabiatta ($22). It is basically a tomato based sauce but it has additional ingredients to spice the tomato. The sauce was pretty concentrated so it coated the pasta well. The olives provided a very sourish punch to the dish.

Coastes By Siloso Beach, Introducing New Dishes - Green Curry Chicken Spaghetti ($24)

Personally, I like the Green Curry Chicken Spaghetti ($24) as the flavour was authentic. But with the capsicum, it somehow does ruin the flavour a little. I don’t mind though since I love this vegetable. As such, I would suggest eating the capsicum separately.

Coastes By Siloso Beach, Introducing New Dishes - Seafood Risotto ($32)

The last Main of the night was the Seafood Risotto ($32). This was loved by most. Though I thought it was mediocre. The main reason being it is a tomato based dish. Secondly, overall flavour was flat. The seafood flavour didn’t come strong in the dish.

Beginning with Salted Caramel Brownie ($14) though I should have it last since it is strongest in flavour. The brownie is chocolaty with salty hint. But strangely, caramel flavour is missing. As always, Vanilla Ice Cream goes well with Brownie and the walnut provided an additional texture.

Coastes By Siloso Beach, Introducing New Dishes - Forest Berries and Cream Cheese Triffle ($15)

Forest Berries and Cream Cheese Triffle ($15) is refreshing since it is mainly fruits with cream cheese, chocolate sauce and crumble to flavour up the fruits.

Coastes By Siloso Beach, Introducing New Dishes - Banana and Chocolate Pie ($14)

Lastly, the Banana and Chocolate Pie ($14). Pairing of Banana and Chocolate never go wrong. At the bottom was the shortbread-like layer. Overall it does taste good though no surprise.

NAHMJ Verdict

Coastes is certainly a to go place especially when you are at the beach strolling your pets and needed a place to rest your leg, quench your thirst and fill your stomach.
