Prego Italian Restaurant At Fairmont Singapore - Prego Interior

Prego Italian Restaurant At Fairmont Singapore – City Hall, Singapore

It has been a quite while since I couldn’t even remember when was the last time I dine at Prego located at the ground floor of Fairmont Singapore. We chose this restaurant as my friend loves Italian food. In addition, which is the most important reason, she has the Love dinning AMEX card which entitles her 50% discount when dinning with a guest. It was such a good bargain.

Prego doesn’t require much introduction since it has been around for more than a decade. I am quite certain that even if one hasn’t been to Prego, will know where it is.

Space was huge and casual. Interestingly, this is the only restaurant that I spotted with quite a number of solo diners. Maybe due to its location, at a hotel, offering a good place for business travellers who are alone to dine at.

Complimentary bread of 2 assortment were served right after we placed our order. Focaccia and baguette (I think it was).

Carpaccio di Manzo alla Trentina ($21) was the only appetizer we ordered. They added beans and caramelised onions with rocket. These additions were good choices complimenting the carpaccio.

Pizza at Prego offers the classic Italian pizza; that is with a thin crust. 15 flavours with various toppings were on the menu. I went for my fave Parma Pizza ($40). Personally, I find the cheese flavour a little too light. Amount of parma ham were scanty. The only perhaps bonus was the amount of rocket leaves. Pizza base likewise isn’t the best, lacking of a bread fragrance.

Prego Italian Restaurant At Fairmont Singapore - Risotto ai Frutti di Mare ($38)

We prefer the Risotto ai Frutti di Mare ($38) even though I am not a risotto fan. The risotto at Prego has more gravy. The lightly seafood flavoured gravy was good enough to flavoured the rice. Moreover, bountiful seafood was buried within the rice.

Prego Italian Restaurant At Fairmont Singapore - Tiramisu ($14)

Ending the meal with favourite dessert, the Tiramisu ($14). It was a near perfect Tiramisu, except for it was too sweet for my liking. Furthermore, I wouldn’t mind having it with a little more alcohol in it.

NAHMJ Verdict

The prices at the Prego is considerably expensive. But with a 50% discount, it is all worthwhile.
