Yu Shueng is never missing at the table during Lunar New Year period. The Salmon Yu Sheng by Furama City Centre is one of my favourite after trying a number. Salmon is my fave sashimi. Most importantly, the plum sauce was thick and flavourful; it managed to cover every single shredded vegetable. As olive oil was added, an added fragrance was savoured. This Yu Sheng is certainly great for the rich palate.

Superior Seafood Soup with Crabmeat is similar to the Shark Fins soup flavour. Instead of using shark fins, abundant crabmeat was found in the soup, resulting in a sweet seafood flavour.

Mains

The Homemade Bean Curd with Seaweed Chicken Floss was a well received dish. Homemade Bean Curd was smooth and pairing with the chicken floss provided an additional texture and meat flavour. However the sauce by the side causes the dish to be a little too saccharine.

Lunar New Year 2017 Buffet At Furama City Centre - Mushroom in Lettuce Yam Cup & Crispy Rice

Since I love fried dishes, personally the Mushroom in Lettuce Yam Cup & Crispy Rice is a thumb up for me. The batter in these fried items are thin and light.

Torched Pacific Wrasse With Ebiko Wasabi Hollandaise & Chilli Thread is less pleasing to me as I felt the fish was a little over-cooked. In addition, sauce didn’t complement the dish well.

Personally I find the Eight Treasures Chicken In Claypot to be very much a dish with lots of Chinese cooking element. The ingredients are also very apt for the season.

Lunar New Year 2017 Buffet At Furama City Centre - Braised Korean Nian Gao with Asiatic Clam & Oyster

When we were served the Braised Korean Nian Gao with Asiatic Clam & Oyster, it was a pleasant surprise. Something different from the usual Chinese New Year offering.

Desserts

Ending the meal with dessert is always a must at buffet. Among the desserts, 3 of the highlight at Lunar New Year 2017 At Furama City Centre are Orange Chocolate Hazelnut, Pineapple Crumble in A Jar and Nian Gao Onde Onde.

Among the 3, the top favourite was the Nian Gao Onde Onde.
