Kush At Timbre Singapore - Kush Facade

Kush At Timbre+ – One North, Singapore

I have been exploring Timbre+, first at Roxy Laksa, next at Portico Platos and now at Kush. The Kush at Timbre+ is referring to Kushiyaki and not Cannabis. Kush is by The Quarters located at Icon Village. It is one of the hippy stall at Timbre+. They are easily identified due to the very prominent van with street art painting. One could spot it even from a distance.

Kush brand themselves as modSin (modern Singapore) cuisine. As such though they are offering Japanese charcoal grill, the skewers are incorporated with Asian flavours. And to differentiate themselves from others, all sauces are made in-house to ensure consistency texture and quality.

Under the Kushiyaki menu, 10 items are offered, ranging from chicken to beef, vegetables and some meat balls. One of the value for money item is the Party Set ($38) comprises of 2 Chicken, 2 Mid Wings, 1 Chicken Ball, 1 Pork Ball, 2 Enoki Bacon, 2 Asparagus Bacon, 2 Vine Tomato, 2 Shitake and 2 Angus Beef which is great for sharing among 4 to 5 pax.

My fave skewer is the Angus Beef

Carnivores, more meat for you. Charcoal Grilled Grassfed Ribeye, 200g ($24) is another fave of mine. Loving the char flavour on the lightly salted meat.

Shiok Fries ($14) is another must order item. The shoe-string fries are average. It is the dual sauces that make the different. Half with Chilli Crab sauce with the real crab meat, while the other half consists of Salted Egg Sauce. A word of caution, the chilli crab sauce is pretty spicy but Shiok!

For those who need rice, Curry Chicken Donburi ($10) is the best choice. The rempah on chicken was very fragrant. I wouldn’t mind having solely the sauce with rice.

And I would highly recommend the Duriancanboleh (one for $8) which is a product of Quarters. The Durian creme brulee has a smooth silky texture and durian flavour with enough punch.

NAHMJ Verdict

Kush is a great option for meat eater friends to gather over skewers and beef steak. Add beer to complete the sensation gathering. And not forgetting to round it up with the Duriancanboleh.
