Putien is known to introduce seasonal menu when the ingredients are at its best harvest. We have previously tried the Clam, Yellow Croaker and now they are having the First Harvest Seaweed Seasonal Menu At Putien 2016 .
I am not a seaweed fan. As I have not tasted delicious quality seaweed dishes as such I never like seaweed. However, these 5 dishes from the First Harvest Seaweed Seasonal Menu at Putien 2016 changes my opinion about seaweed.
First Harvest Seaweed Seasonal Menu At Putien 2016
The first dish from the First Harvest Seaweed Season Menu at Putien 2016 is the Seaweed with Dried Shrimp ($7.50). Lightly sourish due to the vinegar. The dried shrimp added a crunch and prawn flavour to the dish. Certainly a great choice as appetiser.
Next is a comfort dish, Seaweed Omelette ($9.90). As I love my eggs, this is no doubt my favourite dish. Seaweed is abundant in this lightly crispy exterior and moist creamy interior.
I was quite skeptical about the Seaweed with Oyster Soup ($15.80) when I saw the appearance. As I was worried that the lavish amount of oyster might contribute to the over-powering seafood flavour. I was glad it didn’t, instead it was pleasantly sweet. When having it with a dash of vinegar, the soup was completely transformed.
Stewing chicken broth with taro for the PUTIEN Stewed Seaweed ($16.80) to bring the most flavour out of the dish.
The last dish in the First Harvest Seaweed Season Menu at Putien 2016 is the Meizhou Claypot Rice with Seaweed ($11.90). Each grain of pearl rice absorbed the essence of all ingredients resulting a tasty dish to fill the stomach.
These 5 dishes from the First Harvest Seaweed Season Menu at Putien 2016 may not have great presentation; it is the taste that won us over.
