The Asian Kitchen New Menu Tasting @ One Raffles Quay - Facade

Chopsticks By The Asian Kitchen New Menu @ One Raffles Quay – Raffles Place, Singapore

Most will be familiar with The Asian Kitchen. But may not be so with the Chopsticks brand. Recently, Chopsticks By The Asian Kitchen New Menu was introduced. We were honoured to try them out within 2 weeks of its offering.

Chopsticks By The Asian Kitchen New Menu

The new dishes in the Chopsticks By The Asian Kitchen New Menu were introduced from 1 November 2016. This round, the Chopsticks By The Asian Kitchen New Menu consists mainly the noodles and 2 Sichuan inspired dishes, while the last was a Nonya dish.

Sides Dishes

Fiery Chicken Salad ($7.80) was tasty. It uses their signature Roasted Chicken in this salad, little wonder why it is so good.

Sichuan Spicy Wantons ($7.50) was lacking the typical sichuan flavour. In addition, the wanton was slanted towards the sweet flavour.

Chopstick Woks

A very popular dish among the new dishes is the Nonya Fish Slices ($10.80) but not to my liking as nothing came close to Nonya Curry flavour. Nonetheless, it may be an absolute delight to have it with rice.

Noodles

Chopsticks By The Asian Kitchen New Menu has introduced 4 new noodles. First is my favourite among the 4, Japanese-style Miso Noodles ($10.80). It has similarity to the Chinese-style Minced Pork Noodle but with a good dose of miso. The chopped garlic certainly was a great add as the garlicky flavour is a perfect complement to dish.

Followed by my second fave, Vietnam Roast Chicken Rice Noodles ($9.90). This dish whet the appetite as it is sourish. Some find it a little too sourish though it was fine for me. This dish is suitable for the light palate provided that they have good tolerance for sourness.

Though I love Sichuan food, I didn’t find favour with the Sichuan Spicy Wanton Mian ($9.90). Personally, it is lacking of the authentic sichuan flavour while the wanton is too sweet for my liking.

My least favourite is the Seafood Tomato Noodles ($11.80) since I am not a tomato fan. On the contrary, I would avoid anything that is tomato based. But fans of tomato love this dish.

NAHMJ Verdict

There may be misses in the Chopsticks By The Asian Kitchen New Menu but generally slanted towards the favourable end. No wonder it attracts huge crowd especially during lunch.
