Purbasari Saung Makanan Sunda is within the vicinity of Dusun Bambu. It is such a picturesque that visitors should not miss it. Either for a photo memoir or for an ootd. It is simply perfect. It is bonus if you could dine in those hut too.
Each hut is different in size and can accommodate different number of guests. Centre feature of the hut is the dinning table. Fortunately, diners need not sit cross-leg to dine. Instead, diners could sit comfortably like at any normal dinning table.
Food served at Pubasari Saung Makana Sunda is Sundanese. Unfortunately, there is minimum spending to dine at the hut; depending on how many people are the hut for. At this Sundanese restaurant, they offered only set menu at IDR 120k per person. There are either the Nasi Liwet Kastrol Set or Nasi Timbel Bobok set.
Not knowing the different between the two sets, we randomly opted for the Nasi Liwet Kastrol Set.
In the Nasi Liwet Kastrol Set, there is a lukewarm soup with an acquired taste. Flavour was slanted towards the sweet with some unfamilar herb flavours.
Sides consist of Beef Jerky and Salted Fish and fiery Sambal.
Furthermore, there was an Indonesia Salad. It was spicy but appetising. In addition, there is a plate of fresh greens.
As always there are keropok (crackers) accompanied in Indonesian meal.
Mains of Chicken, Tempeh and Beancurd were the protiens for this set. All these were sweetish too. We like the tender, melt in the mouth chicken.
Lastly, 4 steamed rice wrapped in banana leaves were part of the set too.
NAHMJ Verdict
We love the dinning experience and ambience at Purbasari Saung Masakan Sunda @ Dusun Bambu. As for the food, we couldn’t say the same too. Food is slanted towards the sweet profile which we don’t prefer. Otherwise, I suppose it is all right.
