As Montana Singapore closed their South Bronx hence the Montana Singapore Revamped Menu for 2016 resulted. With the same token, a transformation of the space formerly occupied by South Bronx is now into a wine bar, Anarchy.

We revisited Montana in October 2016 to find out about Montana Singapore Revamped Menu for 2016.

In Montana Singapore Revamped Menu for 2016, burgers offered by South Bronx was incorporated. Furthermore, new additions were found. We understand from Montana Singapore that the Mac Daddy Burger is now with an improved recipe.  In addition, we always hold high regards for Montana Waffle and were glad that these awfully delish waffles are still in the menu. And the most exciting of them all is the visually aesthetic Freak Cake.

 

At this revisit, we tried one new dish from each category; All-Day Brunch, Pasta, Burger and Waffle.

 

All-Day Brunch

4 dishes were at the All-Day Brunch. First is the Big Breakfast ($18). Next were Smoked Salmon On Toast ($16.80) and Montana Bangers & Mash ($18).

We chose Braised Beef Cheek With Carrot Kimichi ($20.80) served with sweet potato and potato mash, free-range poached egg and wholemeal toast. The braised beef cheek was fork tender and absorbed all the essence of the sauce. The result was an intense, rich-flavoured piece of fabulous awesome beef cheek.

 

Pasta

We opted for the only spicy pasta, the Spicy Chorizo Orecchiette ($18). This is another rich dish which we love. The pasta was with a lightly chewy texture. Overall taste profile was lightly spicy, garlicky and meaty too.

For non-spicy dishes, diners could opt for the classic Crab Aglio Olio Linguine ($20.80), Miso Brown Butter Linguine ($15.80).

 

Burger

Coming to the Burgers, we were glad to see The Bronx ($16.50), Southern Fried Chicken Burger ($16) and Mac Daddy that were previously in South Bronx Menu found on Montana Singapore Revamped Menu for 2016.

3 new appealing burgers. Five Spice Pulled Pork Burger ($16.80) which I would love to try soon. Harissa Portobello Mushroom Burger ($16.50) seems like a vegetarian burger. And lastly the Crab Burger With Yuzu Coleslaw ($24) is the burger we tried at this visit. Filled with sweetness of the sea in the patty.

 

Waffle

The most anticipated dish of the night was the waffle. We were extremely pleased that Montana Singapore retained the popular waffle choices such as Assam Crab Waffle ($17.50), Bulgogi Beef Waffle ($15.80), Southern Fried Chicken Waffle ($14) and Signature Mac & Cheese Waffle ($13.80). The Truffle Scrambled Eggs On Waffle ($15.80) seems to like a improvised version from their Breakfast item.

The only new creation was the Peking Chicken Confit With Waffle ($16.50) was our choice. Montana added chive into the waffle as such it was such a fragrant waffle. We wanted more after we finished our share. A pity the five spice chicken confit was a little too bland for our preference. But diners with light palate love it.

 

 

Freak Cakes

 

Forget about the Freak Shakes, here come an idea fresh from the oven, Freak Cakes. These Freak Cakes are not only visually attractive but they are equally delicious. Most importantly, diners could finish the cake without wastage. In addition, each Freak Cakes are freshly assembled upon ordering to ensure the freshest quality achieved when it is on the diners table.

 

In the Montana Singapore Revamped Menu for 2016, there are 5 flavours to start with. Each Freak Cake is at $14.80. First is the highly popular Matcha Black Sesame Freak Cafe that ran out before the end of the day. Next are the Red Velvet Cream Cheese and for somthing unique Smoky Nutella.

We were recommended the Caramel Cookie Butter Freak Cake ($14.80) and certainly, it was a marvellous recommendation which we gave 2 thumbs up.

The other flavour we tried was the Coffee Kaya Coconut Freak Cake ($14.80). Great for Kaya and Coffee fan.

 

 

NAHMJ Verdict

 

It is refreshing to see Montana Singapore Revamped Menu for 2016 with a medley of choices and new creation. We love the newly created Freak Cakes that are not only pretty but absolutely a joy to savour.
