Where To Find The Sensational Raindrop Cake In Singapore

What is that Silicon breast implant looking thingy? The answer is Raindrop Cake. It is also known as Mizu Shingen Mochi. This Raindrop Cake has taken the instagram by storm. But that storm has not come to Singapore. Meanwhile, where could we find the Raindrop Cake in Singapore.

Before we look at where to find the Raindrop Cake in Singapore, let’s find out what this sensation dessert is all about. This is a Japanese dessert made with mineral water and jelly powder or agar. It is served with kinako powder and sugar cane syrup. Many claim that it is 0 calories which I like to think otherwise. Maybe it should term extremely low calories instead. Some said it will melt within 30 minutes under room temperature. And yes! Indeed! For those who want to take photos of it must be fast.

Where To Find The Sensational Raindrop Cake In Singapore - Soo Bing Bing, Matcha Raindrop Cake ($4.80)

Our first attempt was at Soo Bing Bing. There are Original Raindrop Cake ($4), Matcha Raindrop Cake ($4.80) and with 3 toppings ($6).

We tried the Matcha one. We were expecting Matcha flavour infused jelly instead of having it as a sauce. The Matcha sauce was too liquidify and diluted. The Raindrop Cake was too wobble and once in the mouth it melts into water. It is almost as good as drinking water.

Currently, O’ Raindrop Cake doesn’t has a permanent outlet, instead it appears as pop-up. There is only the original flavour at $5 for the first set and $3 at the second set.

The Raindrop Cake at O’ Raindrop Cake is firmer. We like this texture better. As the brown sugar syrup was thick, it was more flavourful too.
