Hong Kong Food In Singapore

In 2016, we see quite a number of Hong Kong Food in Singapore. The trend started when Mak’s Noodle and Coffee Academics entered the Singapore F&B scene. Then we have I See I See Popsicle and then Honolulu with its famous egg tart with x number of layers in the pastries. Currently, all these Hong Kong F&B establishment have chosen location in Orchard.

What else will we be getting? I have no idea, let’s keep watch with this post. I have collated on those I know about their existence in Singapore.

Hong Kong Food In Singapore - Mak's Noodle Singapore Wonton Mee

Mak’s Noodle was the first Hong Kong Food In Singapore. It found it way to Centrepoint and have subsequently in the same year, 2015, opened their 2nd outlet at Westgate.

There are quite some negative reviews about Mak’s Noodle. We don’t think it is worthwhile. The bowl of noodle is as tiny as the one in Hong Kong and yet a few times more expensive. The Wonton and Dumpling Noodle Soup cost me $8.50 and yet won’t be filled most with just one bowl.

The Coffee Academics Singapore - Counter

Coffee Academics is a very well known cafe in Hong Kong. Most who frequent Hong Kong might have either been to or heard of them. I have visited both the Coffee Academics in Hong Kong and in Singapore and found that both standard were pretty similar.

The Butchers Club Singapore - Double Happiness In Secret Menu

I was pretty impressed with the burgers I tried in Wan Chai. Hence this is one of the few Hong Kong F&B that is in Singapore that I tried.

NAHMJ Verdict

It is certainly great news for Singapore consumers to have the Hong Kong F&B in Singapore. With the same token, the F&B scene is getting competitive. Overall, all the Hong Kong brand F&B when they brought their signatures to Singapore, the prices were jacked up. That’s our observation.
