Red House Seafood Restaurant At Quayside – Roberston Quay, Singapore

After our April gathering at Asia Grand Restaurant with the SHS ex-colleagues, once again we have another one in June. This round we chose Red House Seafood Restaurant at Quayside as this outlet has round table big enough to fit 15 pax. The other restaurant with such big table are First Culinary and Dragon Phoenix.

Most Singaporean would have either known or been to Red House Seafood Restaurant. Most would classify is to the same league as Jumbo Seafood and Palm Beach Seafood. We opted for a set menu for 10 person at $588++ since only 11 turn up on the day.

Red House Seafood Restaurant At Quayside, Roberston Quay, Singapore - Red House Seafood Potage

These days most restaurant does not serve shark fins, instead they offer alternative soup. At Red House Seafood Restaurant, they serve the Red House Seafood Potage. It is a lightly starchy soup with mild seafood flavour but it was good enough.

Red House Seafood Restaurant At Quayside, Roberston Quay, Singapore - Spicy Seafood Combination

Next on the table was an unexpected delish dish, the Spicy Seafood Combination as it appeared with a mediocre appearance. All thumbs up since the spices and the seafood were in perfect harmony. As all green, nothing much to mention as long as it is fresh.

Red House Seafood Restaurant At Quayside, Roberston Quay, Singapore - Braised Fresh Asparagus with Mushroom in Abalone Sauce

I like the menu includes the Braised Fresh Asparagus with Mushroom in Abalone Sauce instead of the usual broccoli. As all green, nothing much to mention as long as it is fresh.

Red House Seafood Restaurant At Quayside, Roberston Quay, Singapore - Steamed Tiger Grouper Fish with Superior Soya Sauce

In all set menu for 10, steamed fish is inevitable. In this set menu, it offered the Steamed Tiger Grouper Fish with Superior Soya Sauce. It was steamed to perfection and with perfect amount of soya sauce seasoning too but somehow I didn’t quite like Tiger Grouper Fish I suppose. As such I didn’t enjoy.

Red House Seafood Restaurant At Quayside, Roberston Quay, Singapore - Crispy Roasted Chicken with Crisp Garlic

The Crispy Roasted Chicken with Crisp Garlic has truly crispy skin with hardly much fat. A pity the crisp garlic did not enhances the flavour and it require a little more salt as seasoning. The consolation was the meat were moist.

Red House Seafood Restaurant At Quayside, Roberston Quay, Singapore - Crabs in Red House Special Chilli Stew

As always, before mains it is time for crab. Diners could choose either the Crabs in Red House Special Chilli Stew or spicy black pepper. We opted for the former. Red House didn’t use the usually Sri Lankan Crab, we couldn’t identify the type of crabs they use. We didn’t enjoy this type of crab. However, I was glad that the sauce was not too strong in ketchup sauce flavour.

Red House Seafood Restaurant At Quayside, Roberston Quay, Singapore - House Ultimate Seafood Fried Rice

Before dessert, we have the House Ultimate Seafood Fried Rice. Although there were lots of prawns, lacking of seafood flavour and wok-hei. Overall, it was quite a disappointing dish.

Red House Seafood Restaurant At Quayside, Roberston Quay, Singapore - Chilled Fresh Mango Pomelo With Sago

Finally dessert time, the menu includes Chilled Fresh Mango Pomelo With Sago. Lightly sweetened with sufficient mango flavour.

Red House Seafood Restaurant At Quayside, Roberston Quay, Singapore - Steamed Prawns

As we have 11 person at the table for the night, we ordered an additional dish, the Steamed Prawns. It was fresh.

NAHMJ Verdict

The serving portion was not decent. We didn’t experience struggle to finish every dish. By and larger, there are hits and misses.
