Street 50 Brand New All Day Dining Menu At Bay Hotel – Harbourfront, Singapore

In order to innovate and delight the tastebud of consumers, Street 50 at Bay Hotel has introduced the Brand New All Day Dining Menu. It is a menu consisting of local delights better known as Cze Char with a twist. Best of all, it is at such an affordable price, I assure you that it is no doubt but value for money.

 

The mastermind behind this 2016 brand new All Day Dining menu is Malaysian Chef Kelvin who has improvised some of Singapore famous local dishes and flavours. He has curated about 20 small plate dishes and several Main course which are great for sharing. We tried some of these new dishes and we are impressed. We have nothing else but all praise for them.

Street 50 Brand New All Day Dining Menu At Bay Hotel, Harbourfront, Singapore - Soft Shell Crab with Salted Egg Sauce poured over

 

First on the table was the crowd pleaser, the Soft Shell Crab with Salted Egg Dip ($7.90). Chef Kelvin combines the 2 well beloved ingredients of most Singaporean, the soft shell crab and salted egg sauce to form this delish plate. The soft shell crab is notably crispy and meaty. Furthermore the salted egg sauce tantalises the tastebud further.

Next we have the appetising Coffee Wings ($7.90). It taste is akin to sweet and sour sauce. With coffee in the sauce, as a result it achieved the caramelised fragrance in this dish. It certainly up a level of our local Cze Char stall therefore no doubt worthy to be on the restaurant menu. Even the non-coffee drinks loves this dish.

 

Street 50 Brand New All Day Dining Menu At Bay Hotel, Harbourfront, Singapore - Salted Egg Lava Chicken Breast ($9.90)

 

With the salted egg trend still going strong, Street 50 introduces the second dish with this popular sauce, Salted Egg Lava Chicken Breast ($9.90).  It is a surprise to find the breast meat moist and tender after deep-frying. Even though I don’t adore breast meat, I certainly approved of this dish. Salted Egg fans rejoice!

 

Street 50 Brand New All Day Dining Menu At Bay Hotel, Harbourfront, Singapore - Cereal Prawn with Wasabi Dressing ($9.90)

 

Another big favourite at Cze Char stall is the Cereal prawns. At Street 50, this well-liked dish is pair with Wasabi sauce, as such it is named Cereal Prawn with Wasabi Dressing ($9.90).

 

Street 50 Brand New All Day Dining Menu At Bay Hotel, Harbourfront, Singapore - Shrimp and Eggplant Sambal ($8.90)

 

For a spicy dish, we have the Shrimp and Eggplant Sambal ($8.90). The dish provides numerous texture as it has the soft eggplant, coupled with crunchy prawns and finally with the crispy ikan bilis. A pity the sambal fragrance diminished fast. It didn’t linger on the palate long enough to savour the goodness.

 

Street 50 Brand New All Day Dining Menu At Bay Hotel, Harbourfront, Singapore - XO Scallop and Prawns Fried Rice ($9.90)

 

Still at the small plates, we have the XO Scallop and Prawns Fried Rice ($9.90) served in Omu style. It was a flavourful dish and it would have been perfect if there was more wok-hei.

Here is our last small plate. Instead of having our usual hawker style Char Kway Teow with cockles, at Street 50 , they use oyster. Hence the Oyster Char Kway Teow ($12.90) is born. Some say that this dish is a perfect marriage between Oyster Omelette and Char Kway Teow. At NAHMJ, we like the idea of having oyster as it add a refinement to the dish.

Moving on to the Mains are 2 claypot dishes, namely the Claypot Assam Fish Head ($18.90) and Claypot Curry Fish Head ($18.90). First, note the price, at $18.90, it is amazingly wallet friendly which we couldn’t believe it. Both tasted equally good though all diners at the evening prefer the former. The soup of the Claypot Assam Fish Head is light and yet flavourful. We could savour the goodness of the natural ingredients such as tomato.

Lastly, end the meal with a Fresh Coconut Malibu ($8.90). In it are creamy coconut ice cream with 3 types of melon balls.
