Weekend Afternoon Tea At Tea Lounge Of Regent Hotel - Tea Lounge Overview

Weekend Afternoon Tea At Tea Lounge Of Regent Singapore

For a birthday girl, we went for a weekend Afternoon Tea At Tea Lounge Of Regent Singapore in June 2016. It was a luxe indulgence. I am one who rarely go for buffet of any sort since I tend to over eat during such a feast. But since it was for a birthday celebration of a dear one, my aunt, I picked the treat at the Tea Lounge of Regent Singapore for this private celebration.

Both the weekday and weekend afternoon tea at the Regent Singapore are served at the Tea Lounge. The interior decoration of the Tea Lounge seems to me English. It has a mixture of couch seats and normal dinning tables.

We were glad that we were allocated the normal dinning table.

The weekend afternoon tea at Tea Lounge of Regent Singapore is served in the form of buffet with a wide range of food. Since my aunt was craving for cakes, we dived straight to the sweet section of the buffet.

First was the western pastries and cakes. I estimated that there are about 12 varieties with both the individual portion dished onto a small plate or glass or the slice cakes and tarts.

There is also a station of Churros, Waffles and the famous Scones of Regent Singapore which is listed as one of the best in Singapore. I didn’t like the Churros. I thought scones was good but isn’t as excellent as I thought it would be. Especially, when I compared it with my favourite scones from TWG.

Weekend Afternoon Tea At Tea Lounge Of Regent Hotel - Chef at the Buffet

The more interesting savouring option is as always from the “live” station. The 2 young Chefs  manning the station were so fun. They paused and posed for a photo. These young chef dishes the Laksa and the Congee.

At the live station, it was mainly an Asian affairs with Chicken satay. This is a popular item. And there were Steamed Chicken (which was bland) and Chilli Crab Sauce with Mantou. Other items include the deep-fried chicken which was far too salty, roasted beef which I enjoyed. And my favourite food at this section is the Salmon Confit with Yuzu Sauce and Sesame Seed. This was finger-licking good.

Weekend Afternoon Tea At Tea Lounge Of Regent Hotel - Laksa

I am not a Laksa fan but I thought it was delish. The spice were moderately added and it wasn’t too oily.

Weekend Afternoon Tea At Tea Lounge Of Regent Hotel - Dim Sum

I skipped the Dim Sum totally as these doesn’t look appetising to me. Anyway, the choices were interesting but classic. These choices are usually appealing to the masses.

Weekend Afternoon Tea At Tea Lounge Of Regent Singapore - Cheese Table

Cheese was also provided at the weekend afternoon tea at Tea Lounge of Regent Singapore. There were 4 types of cheese; Cheddar, Blue Cheese, Brie and one other hard cheese which I can’t remember the name.

Weekend Afternoon Tea At Tea Lounge Of Regent Singapore - Sushi

If one like Japanese food, could turned to the Sushi. But I would choose to keep the Sushi the next time. Personally, I didn’t think it worth the calories.

Weekend Afternoon Tea At Tea Lounge Of Regent Hotel - Mango Tango Tea

Lastly, the most important aspect of an afternoon tea is Tea itself. At the weekend Afternoon Tea At Tea Lounge Of Regent Singapore, they provided almost 20 tea selection with choices of black tea, oolong tea, green tea, fruit tisanes and herbal tea. If tea isn’t your kind of drink, diner could opt for coffee with decaffeinated coffee as an option and chocolate drink. Both are served in iced or hot. Each diner could order 2 drinks at the afternoon tea buffet.

And in case you are curious about my tea option; I have the Shanghai Rose while my aunt has the Lemon Mango Tango.

NAHMJ Verdict

We like the selection at the weekend Afternoon Tea At Tea Lounge Of Regent Singapore. There was a good mixed of food and most importantly, a good range of desserts. And of course, at every buffet, expect hits and misses.

The bottom line is that nonetheless we enjoyed at the weekend Afternoon Tea At Tea Lounge Of Regent Singapore.
