Sprout Salad Bar is an addition to Duxton Road in April 2016. Yet another salad bar in town. Looks like the trend to have salad bar in town is on the rise.

There are quite a good number of seats in this Salad Bar. It provides both dine-in and takeaway.

At Sprout Salad Bar, it offers mainly salad. So if you aren’t a salad fan. This place isn’t for you. They provide In-house customised salad for ease of decision by the diners. It is largely classified into either Salads or Salad Bowls (which contains grains). Each category has 5 types of salad for selection.

Sprout Salad Bar At Duxton Road, Tanjong Pagar, Singapore - Pearl Cous Cous

I tried the Korean Chicken Bowl ($16.90) which consist of Marinated Grilled Chicken Breast, Baby Spinach, sauteed Shitake Mushrooms, Silken Tofu, Carrots, Japanese Cucumber, Toasted Sesame Seed, Mung Bean Sprout (absence in my bowl), Pearl Couscous with Kimichi Soy Dressing and a boiled Egg.

Personally, I didn’t enjoy the salad at all. Firstly, the grilled chicken was blant. Next the entire salad bowl was only salty with not much of other flavours savoured. And I keep tasting the mushroom only. The taste of the salad bowl was flat. It was a rather boring bowl. In addition, there isn’t anything so Korean about the bowl. I was disappointed.

There is an option to complete the meal with soup and drink. For drink, diners could choose hot or iced, coffee or tea. I went with an Organic Ginger & Pear White Tea ($5).

The soup of the day on my visit was Salmon Miso Soup. A tasty bowl of soup with lots of chopped vegetables.
