999.99 Five Nines Restaurant - Bar Counter Overview

999.99 Five Nines Restaurant – Keong Saik Road, Singapore (Closed)

One more restaurant at Keong Saik Road, 999.99 Five Nines Restaurant. Keong Saik Road is a street that is densely populated with eateries, restaurants. At every few steps, surely you will spot a eating outlet. I am not sure what was previously occupied at the 999.99 Five Nines Restaurant unit. I won’t be surprise if it was some restaurant that closed down.

I was curious why the restaurant was named 999.99 Five Nines Restaurant. Hence I inquired with the friendly service crew, Channel (hope I spelled her name correctly). The reason was that the owner was previously in the precious metal industry and 999.99 is the purest form of metal one would get. I suppose, they wanted to symbolize how perfectionist the restaurant is.

999.99 Five Nines Restaurant - Overview of the Restaurant

It was pretty easy to spot the restaurant as there was a neon light signage of its name 999.99 Five Nines at the facade. The restaurant has a set up more like a bar with the bar counter as the main feature.

999.99 Five Nines Restaurant - Menu

I visited the restaurant with my Mom on Christmas Day for lunch. They were serving 2 menu, a 2-Course Set Lunch Menu and a Special Christmas Set Lunch Menu. We went for one each.

999.99 Five Nines Restaurant - Pumpkin Soup

For both course, first we were served the Pumpkin Soup. It was pretty sweet and that was what my Mom didn’t appreciate while I did. I like the way it was.

999.99 Five Nines Restaurant - Duck Breast Salad

Next was the Duck Breast Salad. I was surprise not to see any green when it was named salad. Instead the duck breast was sat on a few wedges of potato. We enjoyed this dish. It was simple but no doubt delish.

999.99 Five Nines Restaurant - Beef Rossini, Pan Fried Striploin Beef, Foie Gras, Potato Puree & Sauteed Spinach with Pine nuts

Next I have the Beef Rossini which was on the Christmas Set Lunch. It was such a luxurious plate of Mains. The pan fried striploin beef was topped with foie gras and truffle. At the bottom was Potato Puree and Satueed Spinach. This was fitting for a Christmas meal. I enjoyed though I thought if they could use a more premium piece of steak that would have been perfect.

999.99 Five Nines Restaurant - Lobster Gratin with Salad

My Mom chose Lobster Gratin With Salad. Beside the salad, there were some fries. I was surprised to find out how value for money was the 2 course-set lunch. There were indeed lobster pieces in the gratin. I didn’t appreciate the fries as it was soaked with oil.

999.99 Five Nines Restaurant - Bouche Noel, Chocolate Sponge & Hazelnut Mousse with Vanilla Cream

Lastly the Bouche Noel, the last course was served. A Chocolate Sponge & Hazelnut Mousse with Vanilla Cream. There were some raspberry sauce on the plate which exalted the cake roll.

999.99 Five Nines Restaurant - Black Coffee

The coffee was a dark roast, full body with very low acidity and mainly nutty and some burnt caramel undertone.

NAHMJ Verdict
