Hong Kong 2015 Trend Desserts is soft serve. As there is a Matcha craze, there were a number of ice cream parlour serving Matcha Soft Serve and all things Matcha. And I also spotted an increasingly number of various tea flavoured ice cream too. I see that the plated dessert trend is on the rise in Hong Kong too. Check In Tokyo has their soft serve in various cute animal shaped. What we tried was the Koala Matcha soft serve. Soft serve was smooth and matcha flavour was rich enough to savour.

I like the Mochi like that was accompanied with the soft serve but the Matcha ice cream was one which I least prefer among the many choices in Hong Kong.

Still the hot favourites among the cafe-hopper. You will almost always find a queue outside the cafe. Serving various tea flavoured soft serve and pastries. Matcha, Houjicha, Royal Milk Tea are some of which served in Via Tokyo.

Every Wednesday is Reverse Tokyo where Matcha Soft Serve is absence. If you are going after its well sought after Matcha flavoured soft serve, avoid Wednesday.

cha FOR REN serves some not so common tea flavoured ice cream. We happened to see the Iron Buddha Soft Serve 铁观音雪糕 and one like, one didn’t quite enjoy. At times, you get Matcha soft serve too.

Serving both the Hokkaido Milk and Cereal Milk tea with 4 flavours each. Each cup comes with a gimmick of dry ice smoke.

 

 

We tried the Apple Crumbe in Hokkaido Milk. Soft serve is smooth and extremely lightly sweetened.
